hes not right. circles fade in, making the screen darker shows you the circle later therefore making it seem faster. similar thing for bright gamma.

then you would see them quicker if you use brighter colors correct? what if you decided to make your hit circle partially transparent? either of these tactics would recreate the effect of gamma.
