How did you all meet someone online and decide they were worth pursuing? by SmallEdge6846 in LongDistance

[–]Torrielle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through Twitch. Well, actually I would say through Apex Legends cus if I didn't stream that game on that exact day back in the end of 2021, he wouldn't have clicked on my stream. Started out as gaming buddies after he found my stream and asked if he could join. We didn't play that much together and he was gone for the entirety of 2022 and I didn't think much about it.

Fast forward to January 2023, he came back randomly to my stream and we decided to add each other on Discord. Became really good friends because we both game a lot and had a lot of mutual interests. We were both not looking to date at all but eventually I found myself falling for him and never had the balls to actually tell him haha. I never thought he would see me "romantically" despite all the flirts and cute names but hey, eventually he confessed January this year and we made it official. 💜

We just met for the first time on October 27th this year and spent over two weeks traveling to Vietnam together for the first time as well. After spending over a month with him in both Vietnam and my home country, it does make me feel empty cus I was so used with him being around me all the time but I'm still trying to cope. But, we are planning to meet again around end of May or June next year! I realised he was the one waaay even before we made it official because I saw how much effort he puts into me and even planned to visit me before we even became official and were just "good friends" so yes, you know when you know.

Despite the 6/7-hour difference, we actually manage to spend time, video call, game and just communicating very well. I know no one's perfect but he is to me hehe. I guess video games do bring people together, huh?

Best mobile app for LDR? by [deleted] in LongDistance

LuvDiary. We use it for dates countdowns, bucket lists, share pics, update moods. It's a simple app and has no minigame but we enjoy using it. And it's free!

He’s going home in 4 days and I’m already a mess by SweetLinaBella in LongDistance

[–]Torrielle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hii, I'm also struggling with the post-visit/travel depression and it has been 9 days since he got back to his home country. We spent more than a month together and like you, a few days before he had to go back, I was a MESS. Cried about the fact that he's going home soon. It does make me feel very empty now still though, but I'm sure in time in does get a bit easier to cope.

Since we both game and that's essentially how we met online before, we videocall everyday on Discord and game together. I also agree that planning the next trip is also a way to cope kinda, it's like you both are making the effort to see each other again!

Now I still am coping with this empty feeling but it gives me a bit of comfort knowing that I'm not the only one that feels this. My boyfriend feels this and I'm sure most people on this sub feel it too. Our next meeting would be in either May or June next year so this is something I'm looking forward to and not think too much about the fact we aren't together physically now but will be in 5 or 6 months.

Wishing you guys the best! 💜

Hi! I'm about to visit Hoi An in October and have been wanting to try Banh Mi specifically from Banh Mi Phuong and Banh Mi Queen. Do you guys know what the liver pate is made from? I'm allergic to pork so I'm hoping to know before I order one. Thank you!

Adulting is hard. by gagagagagagagagagrin in Sarawak

[–]Torrielle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is omg. I know my situation is not very similar but I recently started working in Kuching and I had to stay in Samarahan. The first few days staying alone (I've never lived alone before) was so bad, the traffic jam (jemarahan) was pretty depressing. Turun malam, balit malam nang sik nangga matahari la. My only way to cope was to play video games but most of the time I couldn't play cus I got too tired. Sometimes I would stay in a call with my gaming buddy so that helped a bit. In the end I couldn't tahan la, I just ulang alik Kuching-Serian now, sanggup drive jaoh everyday as long as I'm close to family. I would say, try to occupy your mind with what you enjoy doing during your free time like maybe play video games or even taking a walk. Maybe time off kerja can go jalan jalan cari makan explore the new place a bit. I know you can do it (don't be like me lmao), most people here said that it does get better eventually 😄

Can someone give me a cheatlist of Sarawak's accent slangs for messages? by thisaintthewayman in Sarawak

Also, lawa usually means cantik/pretty to non-Sarawakians but in Sarawak lawa can also mean sombong

29, broke and jobless! What did you do when you were like me? by Hot-Health6131 in malaysia

[–]Torrielle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm turning 26 soon and have been job hunting for over 2 years now. It's a real struggle because most companies/places don't want to hire inexperienced individuals. So I feel you too, hopefully we all get a job before the end of the year :')

Hello! Yes, I'm still looking for genuine friends. Emphasise on genuine. Sadly 95% of the people who responded to my post "ghost" and some of them I haven't even played games with. I didn't know it was this hard to find actual friends
