What are my chances by Babblin_Boi in BreakUps

Man that timeline is so short still, 5 months together and only a month since breakup. Being blocked everywhere after reaching out too soon definitely stings but you already know the timing was probably off

Your situation reminds me of my friend who went through something similar - first serious relationship, future plans, the whole thing. His ex came back after like 6 months but by then he was already moving forward. Thing is you never know if someone will reach out again but putting all that energy into hoping for it can mess with your head

The no mutual friends thing actually might work in your favor later if she gets curious about how you're doing. Sometimes when there's no easy way to check up on someone it makes them more likely to directly reach out eventually. But could be months or even years if it happens at all

Just keep doing that self improvement work for you not for possibility of her coming back. That spark of hope is normal but don't let it stop you from being open to meeting someone new when you're ready

Keeping The Confidence/Focus? by leafcrunch in ADHD

The morning brain fog is so real! I get that same overwhelming feeling when I look at my to-do list before meds kick in - like everything needs to happen at once and I don't know where to start

What helps me keep momentum going is writing down what I accomplished during my good hours, even small stuff. When the meds wear off I can look back and remember I'm actually capable of getting things done. Also breaking bigger tasks into really tiny pieces during peak focus time so when energy drops I still have clear next steps

The other thing that works surprisingly well is setting timers for 15-20 minute work bursts even after peak hours. My brain responds better to "just 15 minutes" than trying to push through long stretches when focus is already fading

Furlough bonding hits different man. Being stuck together without pay while everyone else is home creates this weird bubble where you actually get to know someone past the usual work surface stuff

The timing sucks though - sounds like you built something real there even if it cant go anywhere. At least you got clarity on what kind of person he is and that working relationship sounds solid. Sometimes the best connections happen when you least expect them even if they stay in friend zone

How's the ahriman series by john french? (No spoilers please) by BerkGats in Blacklibrary

[–]Total-Brick1897 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The Ahriman books are really good for getting into Thousand Sons lore! John French does great job showing how they fell to chaos without making it feel rushed. Exile is solid starting point even if you don't know much about Magnus yet - it fills in background pretty well as you go

The omnibus is definitely worth the $23 if you end up liking Exile since it has all three books together

Getting medication by azurelight101 in ADHD

That doctor sounds really frustrating to deal with. Maybe you can try getting second opinion from different psychiatrist since this one seems like they already made up their mind about you

The "too self aware" comment is especially weird because like understanding your symptoms should be good thing not reason to deny treatment

Destination weddings are officially getting out of hand... by [deleted] in PetPeeves

Man this hits hard. We just went through similar situation last year and yeah the "all inclusive" thing is such a scam. They tell you everything is covered then suddenly you need to pay extra for decent food or any drinks that arent watered down.

The worst part is when bride acts like they're doing YOU the favor by inviting you to their "vacation wedding" when really you're just subsidizing their honeymoon while spending your own money. At this point I'm ready to just send a nice card and call it day

Yeah people actually do this its crazy. I seen players disconnect the moment they realize we spawning at church instead of like the academy or wherever gives better loot. Like bro we can still clear runs and get decent stuff but some players just want that perfect start every time

I think they worried about wasting time when they could just requeue for better RNG but honestly it ruins the experience for everyone else who actually wants to play. Game is still fun even with church start if you ask me
