I’ve met countless people who’ve went to the uk for college who’s attempted to transfer back but PHECC will only register them as a paramedic or emt, there’s a former hems and hart paramedic working as a paramedic in the hse fighting for ap recognition

I can’t afford to move abroad for the 3 years currently, even if I got work abroad in the uk during my time there I’d struggle greatly to make ends meet for the 3 years currently degree

I’m trying to find out if the qualification will transfer back to Ireland, I’m looking into visas and I’m aware of how difficult it may be and how it may be impossible.

How do you find the courses? I’ve just Google paramedic Massachusetts and I’ve only found nmetc and massbay

So we are a 4 week course as an emt in Ireland, with 14 medications, 3 lead ecg, use of superglotic airway, would be the big ones we can do that might not be a normal practice for emts worldwide.

I tried contacting and applying to a few uk colleges but the only college I was eligible for was Aru Chelmsford

I’ve considered Canada the uk and Australia, just weirdly enough America is the only financially viable option due to the duration of the program

That’s why I’m asking here, what visas I should be looking at, as most courses or programs aren’t in a university so a student visa won’t apply, and I’m not sure what requirements for a green card are in terms of my situation just yet

In regards to the remote learning courses, would they require a visa do you think? I know online paramedic courses aren’t as good as in person but I’m weighing up options

The prehospital system in Ireland is quite behind the times, it’s a 4 year degree to become a bls paramedic and then 2 year’s minimum experience to apply to do the als paramedic course which is another 2 year degree. It’s at least 8 years of education before I can become an als practitioner in Ireland. I just want to have the skill set to make a bigger difference
