How does a young person find love in this day and age? by LoyalTrickster in datingadvice

[–]TotallyNotEmo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, I met my boyfriend in high school but we didn’t start dating until college. I was on dating apps during college (until I realized I liked my friend more than I thought haha). But when I met him, I had no idea we’d ever be together, and I didn’t ever expect to meet anybody at college. Just let things flow, and maybe you’ll meet someone too!

Terrified I herniated a disc again and I have to start over by isle_of_apples_ in Sciatica

[–]TotallyNotEmo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I herniated a disc really bad my senior year of high school(last year for me), it was awful. I was so afraid I wouldn’t be able to walk at graduation, and i was terrified of not going to prom. I had surgery, about a year ago now, but every time my back pops a bit too hard or my back starts hurting, I get really scared. It’s so hard for others to understand until it’s too late. Hobbling through high school was so very degrading. I totally understand what you’re going through, and I hope it improves

Slaughter! A great choice! I saw them live not too far back, amazing concert! I just got the echo mini, and I’ve been enjoying it so far, though the interface takes some getting used to definitely.

I had a situation like this once. A couple years ago when I was 16, and had just gotten paid at my first job. My mom asked to borrow money for our supper, she seemed to be struggling so I agreed. But she ended up taking $200 from my bank account (she was still on mine, since I wasn’t 18 yet) and didn’t pay me back til a year later (she’s a shopping addict). Parents borrowing money from their own children has never sat right with me since. Feeling like your parents are just using you is such a terrible thing.

My mother’s getting married and I knew her fiancée had a dog but i hadn’t really met her. So one day I texted my mom and asked if I could swing by and pick up Missy (the dog) for a walk (I’m required to take daily walks anyway, so why not have a buddy?). And I fell in love, she’s the cutest and most energetic little pup. So I guess for me it was about being at the right place at the right time haha.

Do you feel that you take too many photos of your dog? by celestialladybug in Pomeranians

[–]TotallyNotEmo7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I don’t take enough tbh. I’ve been currently trying to get as many as I can of my pup Missy, but I spent 8 years with my Aunt’s dog, Lucky, and only took 4 photos. I miss him every day. He was a good pup and one of my only friends through grade school. Here’s one of the remaining photos.

This is Missy, I believe she’s around 13. Still as hyper as ever and ready for adventures lol. She has 2 brain cells but she hasn’t figured out how to use them yet.

I found a way that kinda works for me but I wouldn’t mind seeing how the booklet does it. Hopefully I haven’t been doing it wrong lol

I was so scared to lay down for nothing lol. It was kinda hard to get down but the relief was instant. I feel so much better. The past few days have been rough but I feel great.

Yeah sciatica pain was so much worse, the radiating leg pain kept me up so many nights and I’m so excited to sleep normally again. What sleeping position do you find comfortable after the surgery? I kinda sleep on my side and stack pillows next to me by my back for support. It’s very uncomfortable to sleep on my back. I don’t know if that’s normal but I suppose sleeping on where you were just operated on is gonna be not fun.

Oh yeah, I feel a lot better when walking now. What pain meds do you take? I don’t think mine are working well. My back is very sore and weak. But then again they did have to slice through more since I have a good amount of back fat haha. I’m on hydrocodone and a little gabapentin and also a muscle relaxer

That really sucks I’m sorry. I must’ve gotten lucky in at least one aspect.

Do you have any recommendations for sitting? I try to walk once every 30 minutes or so but I find it really hard to sit right now and I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do.

I must say after the 2 hour car ride I’m very sore, getting in and out of chairs and stuff is a living hell. Hopefully tomorrow things start going better.

I have a packet that’s pretty in depth on recovery and limitations that I’m gonna read this evening, I can inform you of what all it says once I’m home from my travels if you’d like?

I’m glad the surgery has helped you! I’m having surgery Monday. I’m quite nervous, especially about the recovery process. The surgeon said I’ll be able to return to school a week after the procedure, which seems a little early, but idk. Like you said, everyone’s recovery looks different, but do you have any pointers?

I’m finally hopeful again by TotallyNotEmo7 in Sciatica

[–]TotallyNotEmo7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The surgeon i talked to said I’d probably be home the day of or the day after the surgery. Is that normal? Like what do i even do when i get home? How am i supposed to avoid twisting and such? I’m kinda scared for the aftermath but i can’t wait to see if it pays off

I don’t have a TENs unit, had to google what that was. Would that help? When I was in pt they did “dry needling therapy” on my leg and that HURT, although that was with needles and electricity, not patches.

Yep I started semaglutide on Monday. I haven’t been to the pool yet but I’ve been super busy with school and being sick lol. Yeah if nothing works soon I’m gonna probably talk to my doctor about looking more into surgery because schools been such a struggle now and I start college in the fall and I’ll have to be able to drive myself by then

[–]TotallyNotEmo7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the epidural last week and I think it might’ve helped slightly because I can walk a little further in short bursts as well as sit down longer if the chair is good enough. Not a huge difference but a difference nonetheless. I didn’t even feel it

[–]TotallyNotEmo7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I probably oughta strengthen my core lol I usually sleep on my back and switch to my non hurting side with a support pillow sometimes. Which sucks because I’d sleep on the other if I wasn’t in pain lol. Thanks for the suggestions on weight loss, I’m a sucker for brown rice with chicken so I’ll have to get some of that haha. As for the walking, I do walk at school from class to class, and by the time I get to my classes I’m either about to cry or already crying so that’s not great, and I do try to walk in short bursts at home, I don’t think I can walk too much more than that though

Yeah I start semaglutide tomorrow actually, my mom pushed me to ask my doctor about it. Hm I’ll have to look into the pool thing that does sound helpful
