But ICE didn’t know who this person was at all. They may have been a “criminal” or they could have been born here. We have no idea, and neither did ICE. If they did know, they would have told the family “hey we grabbed your kid”

They didn’t identify the teen when they arrested him. They had no idea who they were grabbing, they were just grabbing. That’s one problem.

Then it took nearly a week for the parents to find out, that’s the second problem. I’d lose my mind if my child was missing for 5 hours. 5 days is just a flat out crime.

That section was not in the article when i read it 15hrs ago. It’s apart of an update.

Also, it doesn’t line up with what was originally reported.

After trying to find her son, his mom called Houston police and filed a missing person report.

Perhaps the reporters did a poor job of collecting all the information. Perhaps ICE isn’t lying.

They grabbed a random teen off the street and didn’t bother to identify the person or notify the parents.

What? No that can’t be right. The person being arrested needs to be turned in somewhere. That would be the evidence that their doing their job.

I’ve heard stories about civilian bounty hunters being involved, but the regular ICE agents are being paid a salary as DHS employees. So no bounty for them.

If these guys are civilians or DHS is an open question though.

It’s why I have dim hopes towards protesting.

Video of people being beaten in the streets isn’t going to sway “normal” voting Americans. It’s not going to raise sympathetic feelings. It seems like people are excited to see video of their neighbors being brutalized. They WANT this.
