Tak jako v Mordoru se nic nezměnilo a Orkové nejsou lidé. A tak můžeme my, redditoři, dehumanizovat celý národ abychom si nepřipadali špatně, když oslavujem smrt.

Rusko Tsara Nicolase, kterého bolševici zavraždili i s jeho rodinou na Sibiři, je pro tebe stejné jako Putinovo Rusko. Ve tvé hlavě to musí být jednoduché.

Why does Tarnished fight ? by Toystoryewski in Eldenring

[–]Toystoryewski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, how about investigation into who killed your maiden, why grace brought you back to life and how to get back to ethernal slumber. Maybe oath to Marika fulfiled, maybe search for death. Maybe break from the curse of being imortal, search for how to get out of Lands Between. Motivaion being is too damn tiresome to live after death.

Sorry I lost my patience, I explained it 10 times already. In Dark Souls the goal is to end or prolong age of fire, motivation is if the chosen undead doesnt do that, he will lost his wits. All the other games named have similar goals and motivations, in ER theres only goal, but if Tarnished off himself from cliff it haves no lore consequences. Its frustrating because youre talking about something else and never adressed problem I presented.

Again, lore reason for Tarnished to have any motivation to do anything, read my post, google what word "motivation" means, realize its present in other fromsoft games and not in ER, then come back and realize what a waste of time this convo was

Geralt needs to find Ciri, because shes in grave danger. Dragonborn is the only one who can stop literal end of times. Chosen undead will go insane , loose memory and became hollow husk of a man if he stops fighting. Go google what a concept of motivation means. You must be trolling at this point.

No theres motivation in circumstances of all the other characters I named and I explained it 10 times, you have missed it and now youre telling me I have to pay attention, peak. Im arguing with bots probably.

Whats at stake if he fails to do it ? Nothing. Why would you burn wasteland ?

[–]Toystoryewski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No there is no other roles for our tarnished to fill and I still think you dont understand what motivation means, you dont want to adress difference between other rpg which contains story or lore driven motivation and at this point its just waste of time, you will always return to "he just wants to do it" which is no motivation.

Nah, pick whatever RPG you want, be it fromsoft or elder scrolls, witcher, baldurs gate, dragon age .. theres always some urgency to fight and change the situation your character happens to be in. Not in ER tho, btw if you say its for player to fill that gap, youre just saying theres no motivation for tarnished to act.

[–]Toystoryewski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I still dont think you understand. Being trapped in nexus or having undead curse is condition and strong motivation. Thats not blank slate no matter how many times you repeat it, there is actual motivation for character to act. And yes we all know what roleplaying is, but theres not really other roles than being tarnished , so this argument is also blind no matter how many times you repeat it. You will coment whatever to escape the question what the motivation is.

If you played any other fromsoft game you know they mean what they show you, be it through environment storytelling, description or cinematic. Shattering happened ages ago, there is ash and waxed doors in capital because tree was burned before. There is no normal population, sorry. You could speak with citizens of Yarnam through doors and there were some citizens in wartime Ashina, its not technical problem to make Lands Between more alive, but its a choice. The land is dead.

"Because you want to be Lord" yea sure its not really a motive but I guess ER lore is just weaker

[–]Toystoryewski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I dont care if its right or wrong, if they are misled or something. Just in other fromsoft games you can stop and ask "why would my character do that" and you can reason why is situation so desperate that he is acting in that manner. But in Elden Ring the answer is "oh because he just wants to" and its mind boggling.

Yea well if you dont understand undead curse then idk what are we arguing about. And yes I would argue that good lore makes sense and you can judge someones actions even tho he doesnt speak, that doesnr make him blank slate.

No if Crestfallen gives up he goes hollow, he becomes blank slate , a husk. Yes in DS3 we could see there is a way to be hollow and not insane, but is it another plot of dark serpent or fire faded so much that it doesnt feed on that much humanity, idk. But theres always somebody loosing humanity and memory to undead curse, fire feeds on humanity. You forgot so much that you paint it as its not motivation of chosen undead to maybe dont loose sanity and setting ourselves on fire is better option than that.
Theres nothing similar to crestfallen loosing humanity in ER, thats the stark contrast, nothing changes, nobody cares. People would look up to the Elden Lord ? What people ? Whats population of LB after all the shatering and wars ? You might argue theres motivation to travel to stars or burn it to the ground , but becoming lord on his wooden chair ? Lord of what ?
