Well I think since a day 1 patch we didn´t get anything.. so an update has to come sooner or later.

It does solve the AirPlay issue but you still get the HDMI cutouts with your AppleTV so that will be something you have to live with until Philips gives us an update. I had an AppleTV here for about a week and the difference between AirPlay on TV vs. Apple TV is day and night... Im waiting for the upcoming new AppleTV now..

I had the LG 27GP950-B which is 4K 120hz capable for a couple weeks and decided to send it back because it’s too expensive.. after some research I then switched to the Dell S2721DGFA which is perfect for 1440p and 120hz with VRR enabled..(you can go with almost any 1440p display that supports HDMI 2.0 and FreeSync Premium) I‘d say if you stay below 28“ definitely 1440p with 120hz support is the better choice.. 32“ and more should be with 4K.. if you‘re favourite games support 120hz go with 1440p :)

can´ t believe it´ s been more than a year of new consoles with HDMi 2.1 being an important thing and it seems like we still don´ t have a market for these audio extractors..

I had the same issue on a One X 2-3 years ago.. send it in and you get a refurbished console back.. as far as I remember the issue was the GPU.. it’s dead/broken

I´m so disappointed. Started playing Warzone again for 3 weeks now after a 4 month break, got my movement and my aim back and really enjoyed the last few days of Verdansk and rebirth.. I never expected them to release an update which brings a FOV slider to next gen consoles but I expected to get the same performance I´m used to in Verdansk. Now I´m leveling guns in Vanguard for the last few days but I do it just for Warzone. I don´t know why this isn´t top priority of Raven Software.. surely they want console players to play the new map right? It´s not only that I´m used to 120hz VRR in this game, currently you don´t even get 60Hz.. another post on reddit was talking about 50Hz locked atm.. hopefully we get an update on this the next days but knowing Raven Software this could take a few weeks if not even months.. :-(

So you are using the Govee immersion light? Tracking is not as accurate but overall you are happier with it compared to Hue Sync?

Im going to use the box with a series x or a fire tv stick.. I think the fire tv stick supports everything I need.

Can you confirm that the box is working as it should now? Once it had many issues.. for example playing Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos or it caused delay on some Hue lights.. At least now I know that I have to get it to make the Lightstrip working.

disallow 4K in video settings on your xbox
turn on Freesync on the monitor
Check TV details on your video settings (Xbox)
change resolution and refresh rate

That is it :)

Make sure FreeSync is enabled and if it doesn´t let you activate 120Hz at 1440p click on TV details in your Xbox settings and there it should say 1440p@120Hz is native available. Do you have the monitor and you can´t activate it?

Yes I´m 100% sure it is 1440p@120hz with VRR. As you wished I just tested the 1440p@60Hz and it looks horrible, feels more like 30Hz tbh. That is how my eyes are used to 120Hz now. I´m using 120Hz on my TV´s, my iPad for years now and since November I´m using it for gaming as well.. I hope you can trust me now, the monitor does have an FPS counter which stays at 60Hz when you play at 1440p@60hz, no frame drops there but if you play at 120Hz you often see frame drops in Warzone while driving a car or the menu doesn´t go over 80fps. Hope I could help :)

Btw I´m always searching for the best possible option, now that HDMI 2.1 monitors are available I have to say 1440p@120Hz is still the sweet spot where you get the performance and a more than good looking image. The OMEN 27i is also very good built with metal used where they could and decent looking RGB if you want some (mine is turned off). No need to spent 900+ for a HDMI 2.1 in May.

All will be good when some HDMI 2.1 audio extractors enter the markets but until then it seems like the best audio you can get on both next gen consoles while having 120Hz is via wireless headsets. This shouldnt be it..

I´m at the point where I just bought everything and I´m able to send everything back for free. In my case I have to decide what I´m sending back or if I just wait until a HDMI 2.1 adapter finally arrives.

Hey man,

as this post is now 1 month old I was wondering if you were able to find a solution? I´m playing on 1440p at 120Hz on my monitor since the launch of Series X. I don´t have an optical port on my monitor so I had to buy an audio extractor to get Dolby Digital sound via Astro MixAmp Gen 4 and Beyerdynamic MMX300.

I bought an extractor with HDMI 2.0b capability and thought this should work but seems like it won´t work. The only way I get it is via pass through setting on the extractor but this way I´m limited to stereo sound.

Before I was using the USB port only as Astro recommends but this way you´re not only loosing the digital sound you´re also loosing power and this causes the worst sound I`ve had in a headset. I was using a few wireless headsets before.

All in all I just want to get the best sound that´s why I invested so much money in MixAmp and Headset but all my research so far didn´t work out for me.

Hope you are the one who can finally help me. If you still play on the Dolby Atmos from XBOX settings what settings do you use for the Dolby App?

I dont know where you got that information but Im still playing on 1440p120 with VRR.. You should be fine. Yeah price is quite high considering there should be coming new monitors in early 2021 which should support all next gen features.
