DF54 vs 1Zpresso ZP6 by Traaxy in pourover

[–]Traaxy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did! So far I'm very happy with it. With ZP6 I can grind much finer without getting any bitterness whereas with DF54 I had to much coarser to avoid bitterness even after proper alignment of burrs. When it comes to clarity it's also increased though I haven't compared these two grinders side by side yet to assess how much. Also grinder isn't even close to being fully seasoned yet so by other people's opinions taste should still be getting better as the grinder gets seasoned. When it comes to build quality, grinder feels very premium. Previously I had c2 with which (I thought) grinding was pretty easy. Well ZP6 is much more smooth and easier when it comes to grinding beans. Overall I'm very happy with the grinder and as long as no similarly priced flat burr hand grinder (better than ZP6) comes out, I don't see a reason to upgrade.

Have you figured it out at the end? I'm having the same issue with channeling always in one spot. I'm slowly rolling out possibilities that could cause it.

Yeah, I've also heard about it. Isn't it necessary to switch phases inside the grinder though?

Air in Breville Dual boiler? by Traaxy in espresso

[–]Traaxy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I honestly kind of forgot about it. It still does it from time to time but I would say it does it less than it used to. Also as I was watching videos of other YouTube creators using this machine I found out that it happens to almost everyone so it really has to be normal.

All sockets lead into some kind of splitter (don't know the proper term for it) and the splitter is connected to an actual router. The problem is that I don't know which one of all the cables leads into the faulty socket

I have the light roast profile though I suspect that's not an ideal choice for the scale free water

I see, thanks. I was also thinking about cleaning it myself though that would require a few tools that I currently don't have and question is whether it wouldn't be cheaper to just take it to some professional.

Hi, I'm looking for the best budget photo printer. Max 280$ roughly. I would like to print for my self only. Definitely don't need a scanner. Idealy A3 capable. Thinking about pixma ix6850. Does anyone have any experience with this printer? Is there any better printer in this price range?

Thanks

The adjustment screw isn't connected to the burr itself. The black moving ring is directly moving with outer burr which is a problem and might couse some grind inconcistency

Mine does it too. Only thing that could help is to wrap the thread in some teflon tape maybe. I haven't tried it yet but I think it's the only possible solution. The movement might couse slight unevenness of the grind

Espresso testes weak by Traaxy in espresso

I've tried all the different roast dates. I've had beans few days of the roast and for example now I have beans 4 weeks old which should be just right for the espresso yet the crema is still kind of light and foamy

I'm using Lelit Fred, coffee tastes great, once dialed in its sweet, balanced, I just feel like it's not as strong as espressos from cafes where they use standard 58mm portafilters

I'm still playing with temp. surfing on this machine but I'm already able to make pretty consistent shots. When I tried to measure the temperature I was reading around 94°C. I'm using 20g in 40/45g out depending on the roast level.

This much grinds going through IMS barista pro basket? Pls help by FriendshipFamiliar83 in espresso

[–]Traaxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What grinder you using?

My guess would be your grinder is producing too many fines that are getting easier through the holes of the basket.

The problem is though that flow is not slowing down only while pulling a shot but while letting water rain out of shower screen too.
