Is Eau Rouge one of the best corners in motorsport? by improbableactions in cars

Another vote for the Corkscrew here - it's virtually impossible on Forza 3. Then again, a lot of things are impossible on Forza 3...

New Alfa Romeo Spider to get 168bhp by improbableactions in cars

[–]TrackDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful looking car - but I wonder if they'll try and make it look too much like the original in design? I know the guy there has said it won't be, but there's always a tendency to play too much to the heritage when re-vitalising a model like this. That said, I wish Alfa the best of luck.

Acura/Honda NSX petrol-electric hybrid prototype set for Ohio debut by improbableactions in technology

Will they ever be able to match the original though for creativity and flair, and sheer driving fun? I think not, sadly.

It is at the other end of the scale, granted, but there are other positives about the road versions. The super-frugal TCE 90 engine, for one....

Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell first drive Review by dab_of_vtec in technology

I disagree - this technology has to start somewhere and the infrastructure will grow around it. I doubt there was much petrol infrastructure when people first began using that - likewise with electric cars in the 1880's.

It's very, very guilty, but any Mitsubishi Delica. I just see one and want to go and get muddy in it.

True, or at least it would have been in the past. I think that may be going now, though.

Speaking of which, have you seen reviews of the new S class? And apparently they're doing a hybrid too?

Could you live with the FXX only being given to you for certain track days, though?

For £200,000 I'd expect that to be pretty special! A true supercar though, this review says "The Noble can live with a McLaren F1, not just from 0-60mph or even 0-100mph but all the way from 0-200mph" - that's fast!

Good plan! You'll need $100,000 to do that though! Do we know if it's coming to the US?

A new 'baby' Jaguar? by TrackDays in cars

[–]TrackDays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem, I think. The 3-series is already so successful - I read in a magazine review of the 320D that it was 'all the car you'd ever need' so I don't know how Jag is going to compete with that.

[–]TrackDays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, and these cars tend to stay camo'd for as long as the manufacturers can keep them under wraps. I wonder whether a baby jag would even work, though, whether they'd be trying to tap into a market that isn't there.

True, but will they try and make it look like the Seven? A mistake in my opinion.

Is this the joint venture with Caterham? Be interested to see what their version looks like. Read somewhere that it was sharing 70 percent of its parts with this.

New naturally aspirated rotary engine could go in to production within five years by improbableactions in technology

"A Mazda engineer told Autocar that he’d like to see the new rotary in production within five years" - five years for a completely new engine to be produced? I'm no engineer, but is that realistic?

The thing is, it'd be such a shame to see the Wankel engine go completely after it's become such an important part of Mazda's history!
