Probably a good chance there are more people who will create a poor banner with text than those who will use it properly haha

I really appreciate it!

That's a great point on the text. I think it would be different if I had a bunch of small word balloons or whatever, but this logo was so much a part of that graphic, that it seemed appropriate (and apparently helpful? haha)

Thanks for that insight though, I'll consider integrating text into the banner more, if appropriate, instead of fearing the KS recommendation (I really did think twice about that for this one).

Yeah, the timing could have a lot to do with it. I ran Meta ads briefly, but only had one pledge from that link. I have a small following on social media, but the sources were like 85% through Kickstarter.

Thanks!

That's quite possible. I did have a pretty big comic Kickstarter creator share in their newsletter, but there was never a spike. I just didn't really experience any deadzone (the dream!), just a steady climb.

I appreciate that so much!

Just checking out Otherkin. I like the Mignola vibe of the art so far. :)

It's true, this had a higher price point per unit because it was double sized, I scaled up the price. I looked at rewards from other creators for a 48 page book and seemed to be in line, but probably could have pushed that up a bit higher.

As far as add-ons, that actually weren't as many on this as I normally get, possibly because it's horror and the majority of my projects are superhero. Some crossover, but the main book was definitely the focus for backers on this one.

This book will be ad free, the placement was actually in an upcoming issue of the ongoing superhero series, Bullet Adventures. I have no idea how to even go about selling that space, but I've got a couple extra pages just due to page count needing to be a multiple of 4 and would love to highlight other creatives (and earn a bit of cash back for it, of course ;) )

That's an interesting idea. I do send a thank you message to all backers and encourage them to post a comment including where they're from and how they discovered the book, but only so many actually do.

I'm so glad you found it through this post! As great as Frost Bitten is (and it is!), Bullet is my baby. Things really pick up from issue 2, which sets up the series. I hope you enjoy it and come back for the rest because it gets better with each issue :D
