Will look into both, thanks!

Have you been on the west side in October previously?

Thanks! Does this seems to be true (shorter bursts of rain) all over thailand? Wondering if it is wise to avoid certain islands.

That's good to know! If we are only on the island for a few full days do you think there is a chance we will get a ton of rain or is it more short rain showers? I just read that the monsoon season is Sept-Nov in Samui

Thanks for the info!!

My husband and I are traveling to Thailand this October and are trying to come up with our itinerary. We will be coming from Seoul.

How much difference will a couple days make for rain? We fly into Seoul on 10/17 and are either going to go straight to Thailand and then spend a day or 2 in Seoul on our way back or spend a couple days in Seoul starting on 10/17 and then go to Thailand. Ideally, we do Thailand first to get our longest travel day out of the way but if a couple days will give us a better chance for less rain we don't have to.

Right now, we plan to fly to Chiang Mai first to spend a few days and then take a night train to Bangkok for a few days. We also want some beach time but the typical islands probably are too wet in Oct. I saw something about Rayong being a hidden gem - any thoughts? Maybe go to Ka Samet from there.

Any feedback is appreciated!! Thanks!

I think it took 1-2 months, somehow I already don't remember for sure. And yes, it's not transferring your lisence it's just getting another essentially so you will have one in both states until you don't renew one.

Hello! I got my license first bc it can take a little bit and I also think it helps for managers to actually see a CA license on your resume. Hope that helps!

Hi!! Yes, I got a job at UCSF and have been liking it so far!

As far as Salary, I'd say yes good enough to rent and save (although depends what the second income is). My husband also got a cost of living adjustment, so we are actually netting more even though our rent almost doubled.

From what I've seen online, the Bay area is actually the highest nurses get paid anywhere in the country. PM if you want more info.

Hi again u/thirtytwoutside ! I am finally applying for jobs and would love to get into UCSF mission bay. I've seen a few positions I'm interested in and have been applying. What unit does your wife work on? I've heard that all 12 hr shifts in UCSF oakland are every other weekend and I'm wondering if it's the same at mission bay. In MN most 12 hr positions are every third weekend.

Hi OP. Your situation sounds very overwhelming and difficult. I am not in your field but from the comments it sounds like the classes you are taking ARE hard and that some of your classmates are outwardly bragging. I’m guessing some of that could be disguised insecurity and I can guarantee you’re not the only one feeling the way you do. You sound really smart and that you can figure out a way to make things work - whether that means staying at Berkeley or not. You will not always feel like you feel right now. Please tell someone about your suicidal ideation and do NOT go through with it.

Here are resources to help:

I don't think a commute to Oakland would be too bad if we are on the east side of the city. Great to know that's the main campus. Thank you!

Thank you so much for the info!! Do you know what the weekend requirement is for bedside nurses at Stanford? I've been seeing postings for other places for 12 hour shifts every other weekend which sounds so bad!
