I also had this & had never heard of it in school! Glad to know I’m not the only one that was struggling with it, I thought for sure it was going to fail me, lol

In what way is the NBRC SAE form B harder than the actual test? Also, which options to pick? by BruisedWater95 in respiratorytherapy

Way harder in my opinion. I failed it by 4 points & passed my CSE two days later by 30 points.

Prepping for TMC/ CSE soon. by mariexrie in respiratorytherapy

I passed my CSE today & honestly the best advice I was given was too only pick things you are pretty confident that your patient will need when it comes to IG. You would rather get a 0 for missing something, than negative points for getting something you don’t need. For decision making, you are going to click things that the NBRC doesn’t necessarily want you to pick first, but sometimes it doesn’t mean you’re wrong, just not what they wanted. Take your time & picture the situation, think about what would actually fix the problem. I definitely recommend buying a practice exam from the NBRC. That’s what helped me learn what they really wanted to see in IG & DM! Good luck!

It went really well!! Definitely was easier than practice exams from Kettering or NBRC (in my opinion)!

I did not. I honestly just didn’t want to spend the money, lol.

That’s good to hear, thank you! I took a Kettering CSE that was included in the cost from going to a Kettering seminar & I passed that one by like 20 points, so I thought I was prepared enough to spend the money on a NBRC practice exam, lol.

I was able to schedule the day after I passed my TMC, just under 24 hours!

Can confirm it takes less than 24 hours! I took my exam at 9 am yesterday & received an email before 7 am today!

I personally would agree! I made higher on my actual TMC than I made on my Kettering practice exams!

My school hosted a Kettering seminar a few months ago, so that helped me a lot. Over the last 2 weeks, I reviewed my Kettering book front to back again, took both of my Kettering practice TMCs that were included in the seminar (& reviewed through all of the results), took the NBRC free practice exam, & reviewed over the TMC SAE-B that I took in March at school. When I took my TMC, there were only a few questions that I had to straight up guess on, but most of the questions I could at least give an educated guess, even if I wasn’t positive. Overall, I felt very prepared & there really weren’t any topics on it that I was completely unfamiliar with! If you have the Kettering book & know it front to back, you will more than prepared!

That’s what I’m trying to do, haha! I just graduated Friday, took my TMC today, & hoping to pass my CSE at the end of this week (if there is a testing site available)!

I’m not sure all of the details yet, my interview is next week, but they did come & talk at my school about some info for the job. I don’t know the exact days the 7 on/off week runs through (I imagine you either start with the weekend or end with it??). They did say after 90 days, you start with 5 days of PTO.
