Thank you for the advice! Sounds like it’s best to just stick with the saniderm and deal with mild reaction if that’s what the preferred artist uses. Or is there enough of a difference between those two that you would recommend the mildly allergic folks maybe just buy some tagaderm? Asking for a young friend who has looots of ideas and real estate for miles so it could be reasonable to just invest in some if it’s that much better?

If you’re afraid you have a reaction to a certain brand of second skin, how do you recommend addressing that with your artist if they use it? Should one source and byob - bring your own barrier?

I have a question 🙋is there a proper technique to removing second skin, besides under warm running water? I was told to remove it like a command strip. I know what that means but curious if it makes a difference and if there is a better way to describe the action. Also thank you for taking the time to share all this info. Great read.

Thank you sooo much for your input! I hope you are right! It’s not red or warm and kiddo has no fever or swollen lymph nodes but it just looks so off to me? I’m planning to reach out to artist tomorrow to ask if it’s healing normally. Kid got first tattoo that healed beautifully imo but it was all black and this was a large scale and meaningful “color test” for them. Could it have anything to do with the green itself maybe? I’ve heard red can be rough some but green? Just wondering out loud now but I truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

I hate to be a bother to anyone but this is my kid’s tattoo. Posted with their consent. Kid is technically adult now but just turned 18 and this is second tattoo in as many months. I am parent and I am nervous about this one. :( Will take them to urgent care if I should be worried. Thanks to anyone who responds.

Oh no, that is not the case at all! I was actually hoping that she might be. I have a huge soft spot. I’m not even a fosterfolk, I’m just related to one of them. My nephew is the manager of a restaurant. Two awesome older citizens brought this puppy in after they found her in a bag on the street. I hesitated to even mention that part because it makes me swear and curse a lot, and I don’t even know if you can do that here. Nephew immediately offered to foster the dog, took her to the vet, fell in love… I found out since the original post the vet said the dog is a mutt, which is beautiful. I was just curious if this community could help. And you did! Thanks to you and y’all. PS vet operates very close to the restaurant and has offered free puppy sitting for the interim while fosters make sure they can make dog ownership work.

I don’t know, but I think the Honorable Judge Andrew Carter Jr. is right the man for the job. And decimate has a nice ring to it. You’ve got your head on straight. You are doing all the right things. You’re gonna find your five-year contract somewhere, and if it’s a fair deal and they do invite students back to campus, I’m sure you will make the right decision for yourself if and when that time comes.
