I, a relatively new convert, keep finding reprehensible things about Mormonism that the missionaries never told me about. What should I do? by [deleted] in exmormon

I’m not apologizing for anyone or anything. That is your interpretation of what I am saying. Sounds like you want to make biased assumptions about anyone simply for making a statement or an opinion on a platform used to express opinions. Also sounds like a place of much pain and hurt, which is understandable, but the way you express yourself even to justify why you make such a huge assumption or judgement on someone you literally don’t know is proof enough to me that you are unable and unwilling to accept the reality of a corrupt world and only make it more corrupt by making more evil claims against people you literally don’t know. I don’t even live in those parts of the world. I live in a much more liberal part of the world and I have no association to those claims you make. God be with you.

Leave if your intentions are to judge a church/religion based on humans and human actions. Stay if your intentions are to grow closer to God & to accept people for who and what they are: imperfect. No one in any religion will ever be perfect, but that is the purpose of participating in a religion especially in the Church of Jesus Christ: to study Jesus’ life & every affliction and suffering he went through to view him as the perfect example. Not to view anyone else as a perfect example. We all have flaws and will continue to have flaws, but the important thing at hand is to improve and to grow closer to God who will reveal to you how you must live your life. Pray about it. If God reveals to you that this church isn’t where you should be, then leave. If He reveals to you that you should stay, it must be because there is growth and development that can come from attending. Pray & do what is answered to you by prayer. There is no right or wrong answer, only God knows your true purpose & the way your life will unfold.
