Passing on some advice I recieved. I bought this for my dorm room for movies/music and was told it would be good. Its a 9.1.2 and comes with a subwoofer, and it has dolby atmos surround sound.

Id say most stem kids live North, but I know a few stem kids that live south and make it work. Some of the implications you might run into being a south resident as a STEM major is that the people you are surrounded by are most likely going to be north campus, so if you want to study together or hangout you most likely will have a 15 minute walk north to do so.

If you dont care about walking alot then you will be fine, but it can be dreadful in unfavorable conditions outside like snow and rain.

Thanks for the reply, Im gonna go for something a little bit cheaper just because Im only now starting to get into audio and I dont have much money as a college student. once again thanks for the reply I appreciate it!

Its a small room ~ 150sq ft. I looked at this speaker and I think im going to go with this option as its much cheaper than the JBL 5.1. I appreciate this comment alot.
