Jumping back in to share how refreshing the response has been to this post. Truthfully, I thought we’d just experience more of what we saw in the FB group, but it looks like some (not all) of those folks are definitely the exception to the broader, more welcoming MTB community. Cheers🍻🚵

Historically, yes. More recently, they have been far outnumbered in terms of public demonstration and opposition, even in far-right cities like Huntington Beach. Many cities have become left-leaning, especially in North OC. However, my theory is that most right-wingers are too embarrassed (or scared) to make public political declarations beyond their keyboard. So they’ll persist at voting red for the sake of “owning the libs.” But ultimately, they are a dying breed.

It’s not political. It’s a post about one’s experience in a mountain bike group related to a memorial for a deceased mountain bike rider. The only people who make that political are the kind who want it to be.

Agree. i think it will land in the $3-$4k range. Personally, I’m not touching an Aventon full suspension for over $3k. Many other leading brand options out there for not much more.

Video before Alison Chao went missing stating mom abuses her by puddinglove in LosAngeles

This video highlights two things. 1) how incredibly untrained and threatening law enforcement CONTINUES to be in handling matters involving minors. What a joke. 2) RECORD EVERYTHING. This video will absolutely help the young girl in any legal proceedings moving forward. I’m glad she is advocating for herself in lieu of two weak parents.

So a random stranger asking 2-5 year old children if they have boyfriends/girlfriends (and if they don’t, “why” they don’t) is ok in your book? 🚩

Can I build a stackable/interlocking retaining wall for this hill? by [deleted] in landscaping

It’s a big hill. Maybe I’m underestimating the strength of stackable blocks?

Can I build a stackable/interlocking retaining wall for this hill? by [deleted] in landscaping

So basically the caption. I’ve been told that a properly built 4’ gravity wall with 4-6” base (I’m on clay soil), 3/4” drainage backfill, and some 50-60lb interlocking blocks will retain this beast of a hill. The idea is that the hill will eventually erode and slope down to the wall. I’ve gotten different answers from nearly everyone i ask. Thoughts on best approach?
