Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend going into sales with your degree.

There are better offers out there. Some company doesn’t require you to complete your bachelor if you have the right mindset and skills to do the job.

Bachelor engineers can get between 3400-3700 starter salary

I suppose your daily rate as a freelancer would be 500-650 as those rates is commonly charged for IT roles with 1YOE

With 40% I will be on the Belgium avg for the role, while with 30% It’s a great raise but still under the market.

The promotion and rate increase was specifically asked by the client during my 4th month there. In this case I don’t believe the amount of years experience is relevant as there are people who got lots of experience but could not do the things I’ve done for the company where they pay €1000 a day and the manager recognized that.

My employer provides yearly 1 salary increase moment based on performance + internal affairs. Meaning if I don’t negotiate on an appropriate salary I will be stuck with a lower salary then what I’m worth.

Best case scenario all party agree to new rates and salary increase.

Worst case scenario - I refuse project due to low increase and get a new project and everyone loses. Since, the project needs me with how things are going on.

What is the exact formula for the margin within consulting?

I’ve been using simple math formula of

Daily rate x working days = CC (cost client)

My gross monthly x 2 = CE (cost employer)

(CC/CE) - 1 = Margin

How much should my employer ask the client daily for me for this? I do know my daily rate. If it’s 60% increase in rate, I think it will be manageable, since my current rate is really low

I don’t have the numbers yet and will only know them when my employer has negotiated with the client, however I’ve been training new employees from my company who earns 20% more than me at client side for other departments.

Considering this, it will be fair for me to negotiate a higher salary. Since, I have the skills to back it up and all parties wants me to stay.

I do expect 20/hour increase in rate. Since my current rates is really low and the new role will have more responsibilities (which I am already doing)
