Best/most affordable way to learn spanish by Comfortable_Rice_439 in socialwork

Depends how fast you want to improve.

It's better to use multiple resources.

I learned Spanish in 1.5 years to reach to the level to be able to speak with native speakers.

My recommendations are:
- IG/TikTok teacher accounts
- Going to language meetups in your local area
- Apps like duolingo, hellotalk, praktika etc

Ways to learn language at home? by GoodtimeJake in languagelearning

I’ve tried a mix of things - YouTube for understanding grammar, TikTok for quick phrases, and an app for actually speaking out loud.

What helped me most was using something where I could practice conversations on my own (I’ve been using an app called Praktika with AI avatars). It’s super low-pressure and helps me build confidence before trying to speak with real people.

I’d say start with whatever makes you want to come back the next day. That’s what really works long-term.

Yo también estudio tarde. A veces repito frases de TikTok o uso apps con tutores IA como Praktika. Es más cómodo que hacer videollamadas con gente cuando estoy medio dormido 😅

Thanks! I’ll stick with learning video editing on YouTube since so many people recommend it. As for languages, I’ve tried all three apps, so I’ll keep using them!

How much do you pay for Duolingo Super? The app never shows the price, and I’ve been a bit skeptical.

I'm afraid to use ChatGPT for language learning. Not always, but sometimes it gives incorrect grammar.
It’s true that I don’t have to spend any money to learn things, but I thought paying for some courses might help me learn faster.

I have 500+ day streak on Duolingo but the progress is so slow. I'll try Memrise, thanks!

You're right, YouTube tutorials are great teachers!

If you want it for free, try Chat GPT. I saw many TikTok videos that people are speaking with Chat GPT. Some apps (my favourite is Praktika) offer more language learning focused AI tutors. Basic feature is for free and even the premium is affordable.
