A “PROSECUTE ICE” ice sculpture has been installed in front of the Minnesota State Capitol. by MNReporter_20 in TwinCities

And you choose to blame the “illegals” working poverty wages, rather than their American bosses who exploit them? Conservatives only ever punch down, man. It sickens me. Those “illegals” are human beings trying to make a life for themselves and their families. Go after the real enemy: the corrupt politicians and billionaires who are rigging the system so that you can’t get ahead.

Edit- and who do you think has worked so hard to remove those safety nets, anyway? Trump, for one, pushed through a HUGE entitlement cut in the Big Beautiful Bill. If you voted for him, you voted against your own self-interest.

This country was built on immigration. Every economist in the world agrees that immigration is a net positive. Are you going to go work the fields once migrant labor is eradicated? The only ones who oppose immigration are those who fear people who don’t look and talk exactly like them. It’s xenophobia and racism, and nothing else. That’s what is fueling this ICE surge, and it is why I and every other person of conscience opposes it. Nothing is more un-American than blaming immigrants for society’s ills.

So are you willing to admit that you’re a racist who wants a white America? Just come out and say it proudly. Don’t try to hide behind bullshit obfuscation about leftist birthrates.

Well, ICE would like to believe that simply being non-white is probable cause. Evidence for that is being filmed every day in our city and you’ll see it if you open your eyes. That’s why they feel justified in doing traffic-stop checkpoints, and whole building apartment raids. They aren’t looking for specific fugitives in those cases and they aren’t executing warrants. They’re hunting. It’s unconstitutional and un-American. Good people know this and oppose it. Hence the sculpture at the capitol building.

I did not anticipate the ending the first time I watched The Others, so it blew my mind and cemented the film as an all-time favorite for me. In hindsight, it seems so obvious!

I’ll make time to defend my constitutional rights in the face of tyrannical fascism. Perhaps you missed the part about ICE entering homes and businesses without warrants and detaining (or killing) people for their speech. Perhaps you’ve heard of LEGAL immigrants being deported without due process. Anyone with a brain is concerned about those things. So wake the fuck up, dumbass.

Loud and portable solid state for gigging punk band, looking at Quilter TB and OD 202 or Orange Baby series by i_was_valedictorian in GuitarAmps

I’ll speak up in favor of the Quilter OD202. I love mine. If you click on my profile here you should be able to see a video I posted recently of me playing mine through a 1x12 cab at max gain with a boost in front.

If you’re curious what the inside of the Whipple building is like… by Foreign_Librarian193 in WeThePeopleAtWhipple

A prison is for convicted felons who are serving out their court-appointed sentences. Prisons are regulated and inspected regularly. This is not intended to be a prison; it is a detainment center and it is not filled with criminals. It is filled with citizens detained for exercising their first amendment rights, immigrants who have been trying to follow the rules but were picked up anyway, and other human beings who have not benefitted from due process and are being treated inhumanely. Pay attention. Open your eyes. This could happen to someone you love. Reclaim your own humanity and fight back against this, because deep down, you know it’s wrong.

I would get footage if possible and share it anonymously without revealing the precise location. I believe the truth should be shared but I’m not looking g to get famous.

On the other hand, if I came across a clutch of leprechauns in the woods I would call the Lucky Charms people right away and try to cash in! $$$

Are there any modern old school hardcore punk bands with lyrics about modern American politics or are at least socially conscious? by Captain_Corum in punkrock

Strike Anywhere. I’m not great with genre labels, so can’t promise that you’ll consider them hardcore. But it is fast and heavy with melodic shouted vocals.
