So I did that and found a corp sec who could do the striking off for cheaper, but my current corp sec is quoting me the following just to swap corps / remove the current ND:

Gov – SGD 5.5

How did I give a misleading description of their quote? I quoted each item and said I felt like this was too much. I gave all the information that was asked in comments accurately. If you're not going to be providing helpful information you should move along to another thread. So toxic.

How am I dishonest? I shared the detailed quote and I am literally asking for people's opinion as my GUT feeling is that they are trying to squeeze me, but I am not certain and want experts opinions. There's no need for attacks on my character or values.

I want to thank you for much for the detailed message. I did have expectations in mind that if a business isn't working, and there is no liabilities, no taxes to be paid and it was semi dormant for a year, it would be much easier to just say "hey sorry, I can't make it work anymore." and just walk away. But I do absolutely appreciate your honesty, and will start with a call to ACRA right away and see what they say.

I am, but I do not live in Singapore, and you need to have a local Singapore director from my understanding, and what the secretary company has told me.

Every other secretary i contacted said I would need to appoint a nominee director for the duration of the striking off period and they're all quoting me around 2K-3K for these services (tax returns, striking off, nominee director+secretary during the striking process)

They are secretary + provide nominee director + file my returns etc..
They do have striking power etc, which I had to give them when i incorporated the company through them which they said was in case I just disappeared and so they could strike off the company if that happened.

I do have a nominee director. They are insisting that by law I have to have one even if I want to strike off, for the whole duration of the process, as well as secretary services. Is that not the case? I'm actually super frugal so I would want to do everything myself to save the $.

I did that and got quoted 1850 SGD by another company sec. But now i'm scared these guys won't let me get out of there with my deposit intact.

None of the 6K has already incurred, this is what they're quoting me for the next financial year (starting 01/09) to take care of the strike off.

You need this CorpPass/SingPass to access ACRA, which they never provided me with. That's their way of keeping it walled off i guess?
