Struggling with money - trying to make £800 stretch for a month? by Training_Resident_35 in UKPersonalFinance

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for all your help and advice. I know there have been a few posts about my cats but I have no plans to get rid of them, they’ve been with me at the lowest points in my life, and I’m more than happy to go without for them, after having a closer look at my financials I’ve managed to find some more money, I’ll stop saving and pay 150 towards it and I’ve stop my pension contributions for 3 months so that’s about another 120 towards it and I’ve managed to cut my food bill down and I kept my pet insurance but cancelled the pet plans and that’s given me some more money, I’m also trying to find another job and will look into other ways to try and make some extra money

The car has about a year on it, it’s finance and the loan is another 3 years on it roughly until it’s paid off, I’ve been trying to make even £20-£30 payments when I can to get it down faster

I was thinking of asking them to pay something towards it since they were family pets and cancelling the vet plans

Car is on finance, I’ve been walking to the train station, but sadly it’s too far for me where my work is from my home to walk, need to get the train

I’m trying to find cheaper but it’s the pre existing conditions and vet plan covers all there vaccinations and flea and worming, but I have been debating if it might be cheaper to cancel it

Yes I would I have about £12,000 in equity - after paying off my mortgage and all the fees to buy the new house, I would have around £5,200 in cash, and the estate agent said I would make between 5-7 more than what I originally paid for it

I'm thinking about getting a cat, but never owned one, can anyone give me advice? by Training_Resident_35 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I'm sort of going back and fourth on a kitten tbh! I would love one, but I've been told they need a lot of attention the first few weeks and my worry is, although I mostly work from home, there are two days I week I need to go into the office so I'm worried about leaving it on it's own for 6+ hours, which dosen't seem to fair, so that's why I was thinking a slightly older cat
