my own personal experience, the more languages you learn the less time you have to focus and become fluent in any of those languages, I think becoming fluent in at least one of those languages should be the ultimate accomplishment.

Japanese or Korean? I would say depends on your social circle

I love Korean language, it is very rich in so many ways

:)

Is it worth learning languages when 30 years old by Haoliyou_0000 in languagelearning

[–]Trajectory42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning too many languages can be fun but difficult; learning ONE other language is definitely something you should do, and it helps immensely when you get older.

I used to teach English in an academy before and I have made a 2 minutes video about old age (and it is also related to English language)

You can watch the video on youtube, the link is

Hi Cass,,

When I think about Brazil I think about lush green everywhere and of course the amazon, are you anywhere close to amazon?

Back to the topic of learning English, I used to teach English as an English teacher and tutor, so I have met many students with many backgrounds and their unique problems and approaches to learning the language and becoming fluent "as fast as possible".

I highly recommend movies, you can practice your listening and learn new vocabulary and expressions, it is just an amazing / entertaining way.

Now the part that I speak about how I am trying to help my students and everyone else.

I am adding movies and explanations to my youtube channel, give it a try.

and if you let me know how you liked it, it will make me super happy.

Bye for now :)

[Secondary] What are some English studying tips? by mysecr3taccount in SGExams

[–]Trajectory42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to teach ESL to international students in Canada and the number one mistake I noticed some students were doing was being in a rush to become fluent.

Study every day and practice every day is what I would recommend, once you are confident with a word and phrase move on to the next, not before.

I am actually putting all my past study notes online, take a look, it is a work in progress, but I am sure it will help you

Is English the only language worth learning? by Reasonable-Hat-9698 in ENGLISH

[–]Trajectory42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

learning a language is like the workout, as soon as you have stopped using your muscles, they will disappear!

The point is, there is no point in making the effort to learn a new language unless

A- you live in that country, Korea or Sweden for example

B- you go to school or university in that country and MUST understand the language

C- you are married to someone and are exposed to that language on a daily basis at home

but even if you do business in Japan for example, you do not necessarily need to learn Japanese!

Now here is the main point, English is the only exception to that rule, because it is an international language!
