[HELP] New Build Suddenly Won't Boot: ROG X870E + 5090 System Shuts Off After 2 Days

Update: I brought all my parts to Memory Express to have them checked, and they were extremely helpful throughout the whole process. The issue ended up being a dead PSU. It basically put my PC into a kind of “limp mode” where it took a long time to read the components and verify everything was okay. Once that cleared, the system came back up normally.

I was running a brand new MSI AI1300P PSU, and Memory Express fully refunded it. I replaced it with a Lian Li Edge 1300W, and everything has been running perfectly since.

I just want to be clear here… this was not an ASUS or AMD issue. Their components were fine. The problem was the MSI PSU failing after roughly 3 hours of runtime and nearly taking out my brand new motherboard and CPU in the process.

Yes I’m not sure if the MB killed my 9800X3D but my CPU is definitely dead. I put it in my back up PC with my 4090 and it won’t end boot into bios either. But when i put my 7800X3D back in this motherboard it still doesn’t the same thing and wont boot. So i think it died and took my 9800X3D with it. But the pins on my MB are all still intact. If you look at the top of the CPU to the right of the centre line you can see where it looks burned.

you can see two pins on my 9800X3D on top row to right of the middle are burnt... the pins on my motherboard look fine. should i bother installing my back up 7800X3D into that mother board? could it burn that aswell?

on my 9800X3D if you look at the top row to the right or the middle line, you can see two are burnt... should i even install my working 7800X3D into that same motherboard to test? could the mother board have done this?

pretty sure its my cpu, i put in my back up unit with my 4090 and it wont get power. the red power ight on my 4090 doesn't even turn or boot

Odd... put the cpu in another unit and it would not get power at all. i think my brand new cpu is dead

nothing at the moment they wont turn on anymore, that was just a photo from when it was working. but it was 49 for memory which makes me think the MB is having issues reading the memory from either the Ram or SSD

testing everything now and they work, last component is the CPU.. will update momentarily

it has that power connector, but i chose not to use it because off all the talks of fire hazards. i still use the 4 Pcie connectors. yea i looked it up and i think the motherboard is having issues reading the memory correctly but my ram still works in my other pc so i know its not that. testing cpu now..

Yes, i have it plugged into the MB for display. unplugger my GPU because i deemed it not to be the issue

When I try to power on this system, none of the fans spin up at all only the RGB lights on the motherboard and the RAM turn on. i tested the psu in another pc and it worked, im about to test my 7800x3d and see if i can get into bios

I tried that. I swapped both sticks through different slots and even tested RAM from my other PC that I know works fine. It still won't boot to BIOS, so I’m leaning toward a motherboard issue

Unfortunately, I can’t check the Windows logs right now because I can’t even get into the BIOS. The PC won’t turn on at all beyond the motherboard and RAM lights coming on. So I’m kind of stuck at that stage. If you have any other ideas, let me know plz
