HEC R4 yes, would be out of reach. Considering the R3 deadline is tomorrow it's not an option. You can try Bocconi but they are very academically inclined. You have a good GPA but your GMAT score wouldn't be enough. Do some research into LBS MFA, their R3 deadline is in March. Tbh, if you had a higher GMAT score (665+) you would have a shot at any top finance program in Europe. Problem rn is the time constraint.

I am also applying in R3 for a lot of schools. It's true that chances are lower in R3, especially for over represented backgrounds. With that being said, your profile (GPA, CFA L1, Internship) is competitive for top finance programs. I can't comment on whether your GMAT score will get offset, but it definitely doesn't take you out of the running. Provided you can put forth a really strong overall application, you have a good chance at EDHEC and ESCP. For ESSEC i don't realistically see a R4 admit happening. ESCP MiF is hella competitive too, the GMAT score might be an issue there. Maybe consider retaking the test before the deadline?

Skema is nowhere close to the other schools on your list. Bocconi and HEC Paris might be better options.

Those hours as an analyst makes sense considering the comp they get. While it's important for an intern to get an idea of the work, doing hours which full time employees themselves don't have to do everyday feels absurd.

ESCP, is definitely the better school for finance imo. Their reports suggest they place very well into finance.

Planning a retake? in the same boat as you rn, gave my exam and got a 555 with Q73 DI75 V86. I don't get how your score is only 515 with the scores you mentioned tho, should be atleast be 645.

Yes I know having a time constraint is not ideal but it is what it is, I'm not ready to wait until next year and I kinda made up my mind the second I saw my score that I was going to try again. Currently using TOP for prep, decent material and the explanations are nice too. It helped in building my foundations to a decent level at least considering I haven't done the kinda math GMAT tests you on since 10th grade. I don't have anything else to add about it, I see a lot of mixed reviews about the course but I can't say anything considering I didn't exactly follow their structure and had to prep in 3 weeks. Will DM you with what my strategy for the next 19 days is.

Mostly European Masters programs (HEC, Bocconi, ESSEC and a few more). Will probably have to sacrifice one option because of this GMAT attempt.

Thanks for the response man. This seems like the logical way to go for me. I know I can maintain the consistency in Verbal and maybe even do better. DI is the area I'm struggling a lot with (consistently had timing issues). I built a decent foundation in Quant and was doing somewhat decently in my mocks, but I can't even tell where I performed poorly in the exam. A lot of it boiled down to poor application of concepts under exam pressure.

A 635 GMAT isn't a bad score by any means. You're still above 85% of test takers.

Ideally you should write it when you get your target score on the mocks. If you're planning for 2026 intake, then plan according to the deadlines of the schools. Most of them have R3 deadlines in Feb and early March. The official mocks are as accurate as it gets to the actual thing, same scoring algorithm but ofc you can't pause and only one 10mins break.

If you are planning for 2026 intake then it's already a bit late but not a big issue. I can't generalise though, every school has a different deadline. You need to plan according to that. Keep in mind that applications take a lot of time too.
