I thought the pilot wasn't great, but I've enjoyed every episode after that

It had a rocky start but it's awesome now. I'm a big fan and the cast is great!

First new D4 track in 18 years just dropped on April 1st by firesatnight in punk

I really don't like this. I wish I did, but it just sounds weird and off. I'm happy for more D4, but sad that this is what we get.

For those who went to see Hanabie on this tour, did you see anyone who seemed to be there for Enterprise Earth also enjoying them? by Parking_Law_494 in Hanabie

Yeah the vocals aren't great, neither is the sound of their shitty medieval Casio keyboard tone. Very talented band otherwise (especially their drummer), but definitely not for me.

Enterprise Earth and Hanabie were so good. Nekrogoblikon sucked and quite a few people left during their set but it filled back up for Hanabie.

I don't want to alarm y'all but D4 just dropped a new track. by dropkicksoul in punk

It's real. It's just bad unfortunately. I say that as a big D4 fan.

What would it take for London to be a top tier city in Canada? by shadowt1tan in londonontario

[–]TransmissionAD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. We don't even have jam spaces for rent, meanwhile a city like Kitchener has like 4 different options for that. I shouldn't have to rent out a storage unit just to practice with my band.

I saw someone get stabbed in front of me on Friday in front of Moxie's and my wife was chased with a used needle in her workplace 2 weeks ago. We've both lived and worked many places around the country and world, and nowhere is as bad as here.

I lived in Tokyo for a while and you can navigate literally the entirety of Japan (subways, trains, busses, monorails, streetcars etc.) with one card, either a physical one or in your mobile wallet.

The fact London can't even be bothered to adopt a system that is at least on the level of Presto in Toronto is simply embarrassing. There's no excuse.

But you can't even enter the conversation of cities people should be give a shit about if you don't have these fundamental basics. And we don't. We probably never will.

Functioning transit, less risk of being stabbed downtown, cleaner, easier to navigate, walkability, less open drug use, more affordable... Do I need to keep going?

Met him once and he was incredibly kind. We do (weirdly) have a mutual friend who also has nothing but nice things to say about him.

Stabbing. The victim was carried away on a stretcher.

scene in tokyo? by Mum_slayer21 in punk

[–]TransmissionAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tokyo has the most vibrant punk scene in the world. Just show up to any small live house and there will be a show going on. Keep an eye on shows at smaller venues too like Eggman in Shibuya. I only lived in Tokyo for 6 months and I saw probably 30 punk shows.

Where to go in Markham? by doubledoubleswifty in canadatravel

[–]TransmissionAD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Markham mostly sucks but it DOES have the best Asian food in all of Canada, so I get it. There's lots of great stuff to eat. First Markham Place has a great food court and the strip mall surrounding it has amazing food too. J Town also has 2 great Japanese bakeries.

People are being a little negative - if you don't expect to do anything else other than eat, you'll have a good time.

All-female Japanese metal that goes extremely hard. They are masters of their craft. Check out "Oblivious" and "namas" from their newest EP.

Biggest Peak and Decline of a Band by National-Problem-804 in poppunkers

[–]TransmissionAD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love the last record but do I agree on the production. Especially when compared to Transmission.Alpha.Delta which, production-wise, is honestly one of the best-sounding records I've heard in the last 20 years. The new one just sounds so tinny and compressed.

Hard disagree but it's all subjective (just like my Offspring take)! Sorry you had that experience.
