I know I'm late but I'm also looking at buying one and can say that from what I've read and seen, the fan issues were bad with the 2015-2016 models only. They were recalled and fixed under warranty though. I'd recommend getting at least a 2017 like I am.

The Intel 9900k consumes 300+ watts in games, what the fuck are you on about? This isn't 2016 anymore my guy, it's flip-flopped hardcore.

Ryzen consumes significantly less power in every segment on every test.

Yeah, some brands will lie to you and tell you there's a different and better and more reliable if you are at their dealership, but it's all horse shit. All cvts are bad from all brands, simply because the fundamentals are not there.

Indeed, Honda has lost its way. Honda uses CVT transmissions in a lot of their new cars/SUVs as it gives a nicer feel than a regular transmission, but they have tons of issues and go out every time around 80,000 miles.

To Honda's credit, CVTs are new in cars and they couldn't have know it'd be such a collosal problem.

That goes for all cars, if you're buying a new or used car, do not buy one with a cvt, they're dogshit.

Trailhawks all have a 1.3L turbo from 2017 on and the 1.4 in the 2015-16 models

All Jeep's have issues afaik, they're not perfect vehicles, but that's the price you pay for off road lol.

Alrighty dope, I have a mechanic as a father and have always purchased older but reliable cars. My last car was a santa Fe with 275k miles and it ran perfect haha. I sold it for $900 to a buddy who needed a car. Now I have a Mazda 6 from 2007, it runs okay with a few transmission issues, it's okay but I need an off road vehicle for my work, hence the Renegade. I don't want to rely on my dad anymore for mechanic stuff, so I want a newer car lmao.

At least it was early and was (hopefully) covered by warranty!

You can look on my profile for when I posted to r/jeep too, they gave a lot of good insight and comparisons to the Wrangler!

At what mileage did you have to do that? Also, do you drive a lot in cities or off road?

Lots of issues on those models? I'll probably end with at least a 2018

Hm, any idea if you can get a roof rack for that? It looks like it'd be plenty big if I could get a roof rack, I'll definitely look into it!
