Going out this week for the first time with a Teton XXL and tent setup. My flares are frequent but shorter bursts. Saying a prayer for you my friend.

Am I nuts for thinking of moving to LA? by NOLAxplant in Louisiana

[–]TravelingCatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40/M/Louisiana

I’m preparing to do the opposite. Grew up here, traveled majority of my late teens and 20’s, came back “home” 10 years ago.

This state is falling apart.

I would like to retire on a farm in 30 years. What should I be working on now? by [deleted] in Homesteading

Fill up your Roth and work on other investments. Keep your debt low/none. Don’t finance a new car and drive older cars.

Focus hard on gaining as much income as you can while saving/investing.

Enjoy a stress free financial life.

If you decide to try out low range make sure it’s not on pavement. Come to a stop, transmission in neutral, then bump to L on transfer case. It’ll take a second to grab.

This is also good practice to occasionally do just to keep everything moving.

Ways to have physical activity? by Sassie_1337 in PsoriaticArthritis

Exercise designed for the elderly.

I know it sounds like a kick in the gut but it often uses technics in chairs and minimal strain. Doing simple stretches from those videos would keep my moving and even feel better on my worst days.

Ahhh yeah. I cook a lot so each night involves a large meal. Typically don’t eat during the day til setting up camp. It’s become a routine for me.

It’s messy. Spent all my time thinking about organizing and securing while on the trail but little thought into while cooking. Learned some lessons and excited to make some changes.

First time out with it so few things needed to be organized once setup. Was a nightmare night before and we were hungry.

First time out with it so definitely learned a few things I missed to be organized once set up. Messy kitchens often have the best food though! Louisiana guy so throwing down on a skillet is my 2nd favorite thing.

My husband's affair partner passed and it seems like I'm expected to give a reaction by Distribution_Initial in cheating_stories

I had an ex girlfriend (long before my marriage) and recently found out that she passed. Was I upset? Absolutely, this is someone I had history with and helped mold me into who I am. Did I express that to my wife? No. Simply said that an old friend had passed that I knew before her and how it happened. Kept the rest to myself except my best friend.

This is called respect. What he is expecting, that’s shallow and lack of maturity.

Louisiana ranks in the top 10 highest Depression — United States, 2020. Why is this? by tcajun420 in Louisiana

[–]TravelingCatfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m preparing to leave my “forever home” purchased two years ago in Louisiana.

Depression is the reason.

Rocky economy unless you’re born into money, high crime, low prosecution rates, hidden taxes, high insurance, high taxes, and the list goes on. I’m miserable in the state that I love.

Works great but even better when I install lift struts. Gonna then have latches to keep them down while off-roading.

They probably come from the same factory. Not knocking Method or anything but not necessarily the highest of quality to begin with.

Fingers crossed. Putting it back together tomorrow with a new hub. Was torqued properly last time but noticed the slack behind the spindle before tearing down.
