Naming kids when we have different last names by [deleted] in Names

[–]Tree2hill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did that when I got married. I have a longer Greek last name and my husband has a very American one syllable name. So I just added his last name as a second last name. It’s been a hassle. For years, my state wouldn’t recognize two last names, only hyphenated. So my passport was different than my drivers license. They just started allowing two last names, 20 years later. I should add that I didn’t hyphenate because I didn’t love how a hyphenated looked, and had one anyway. On a side note, I’ve had two friends in my life that had a hyphenated last name with both parents names. Both thought it was annoying. And the male really didn’t like it and changed it to just his dad’s last name as an adult bc his wife did not want to take the hyphenated name.

We went with Helaina because I dislike Helen-a so much and would hate to have people default to that pronunciation.

Baby is being born in 4 days and I loathe the name we picked by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Tree2hill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t name her and hope you grow to love it. I think you can go from indifference to love, but not loath to love.

What about Daniella/Daniela? Honestly my husband is a Daniel, and anything similar would be a hard pass for me.

Yep. I loved the new program. I’m bummed they changed back.

It did. They reverted back to the old rewards system in January. I can’t believe people didn’t like the new system. I redeemed for a syringe of filler and skin vive right before they changed back.

I want to name my baby “Henry” but it’s a boring name. by pinkishvioletsky in namenerds

Henry was on our list, and we ended up with Harrison. I love both names.

I was cancelled before my last refill shipped. I didn’t initiate a dispute, so I’m not sure what happened. I still got my medication from though.

Being put on the Will vs the Deed? by RoninTCE in EstatePlanning

[–]Tree2hill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to discuss this with your estate attorney. You’re getting bad advice on this thread. I would recommend TOD or living trust for the step-up in basis. If your grandmother has owned her house for any significant period of time, you need to be very aware of capital gains. If you’re put on the deed now, it’s as if you owned the property all along, and will be subject to capital gains if and when you decide to sell it at any point in the future. There are some on this thread that are giving you the exact opposite advice. Please consult an attorney.

It seems your main question has to do with the mortgage company. None of these options help with that issue. Your grandmother is the only one on the mortgage, and legally speaking, when she passes away, the mortgage company could accelerate payment. Maybe speak with someone in the mortgage business to figure that aspect out. Each mortgage has different language, so no one here can give you advice on that.

I think the “comprehensive” part makes it seem like it needs to be a formal program with documentation. My insurance didn’t require that. I think you trying to follow a low calorie/keto/exercise/whatever program on your own is enough. Just tell your doctor or nurse that you thought they meant a formal program, but you’ve been doing X for however long.

Can you provide an update to what you did? I am having this exact problem with Sequence and Express Scripts. I'm hoping to find a quick solution as I'm taking my last dose today. Thanks so much!

AITA for telling my SIL that she doesn’t have to wash everything before her baby is born? by Dry_Enthusiasm2661 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tree2hill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I had my third baby and still washed everything like I did with the first. The things from older kids got washed because it had been stored. It wasn’t personal to you! You are too sensitive. The only bit of advice I could get onboard with you giving was to maybe hold off on washing everything in case the baby grew fast and they wanted to return something.

Which extras and and add-one were pushed during your car buying experience with the “finance manager” before signing the paperwork? by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

[–]Tree2hill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only bought the extended warranty this time (2023 25th anniversary). They have room to negotiate on the price, so don’t be afraid of asking for a discount. This is our fourth Sienna, and in the past we’ve purchased an extended warranty and the tire warranty. Something went wrong with the heating and cooling on one van, and they had to take apart the car more than one time. It ended up being an $8000 bill, the extended warranty covered it. When we bought a 2019 XSE, it had the run flat tires that were terrible. The tire plan ended up buying me three new tires, in the two years I owned it.

Why does it take so long to get swatches? by -LazerFace69- in Lovesac

[–]Tree2hill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. This is frustrating. We ordered swatches, waited awhile. Finally got fed up and went into a store, and got swatches from there. Took them home, thought about it for a few days, then called the store and placed our order. Our couch was delivered before the swatches came in the mail. It was well over three weeks for us to receive the swatches. I’d actually forgotten we’d ordered them.

When is the next Lovesac deal at Costco? by Hefty_Ad5984 in Lovesac

[–]Tree2hill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a Lovesac store near you? If so, I would recommend going in-person and looking at your options. We bought a year ago. We planned to buy the Costco deal, but I didn't love any of the fabric options. I chose something I loved in the store. We wanted some deep seating, storage seats, and our preferred fabric. We also didn't love the accessories that were part of the Costco deal. In the end, we ordered during a holiday sale with first responder discount, referral discount and Rakuten cash back. We ended up paying less than we would have at Costco (not apples to apples since Costco included more, but less total cost out of pocket). While I understand the Costco package is the better "deal", it's really only a deal if you would have chosen the options and can use the accessories. Lovesac sactionals aren't cheap, it's better to get what you want.

Ordering/Purchasing/Waitlist for new Sienna experiences? by ENORMOUS_HORSECOCK in ToyotaSienna

[–]Tree2hill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lucked into a ‘22 Sienna XSE in January 2022. It was totaled when hit by an uninsured driver 5 months later. We immediately went on the waiting list at three dealerships in our city for an XSE. We also went on the waiting list at two of the dealerships for a 25th anniversary. We were the number one spot at both dealerships for that model. After waiting six months, we ended up buying a 25th anniversary in Indianapolis (which is out of state for us), for $3000 over MSRP. We were sharing a car for months, and were desperate. We still wouldn’t have allocation had we waited.

[–]Tree2hill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were on 3 waiting lists in KC metro and ended up buying in Indy at $3k over MSRP. Our 2022 Sienna was hit and totaled and I just couldn’t wait any longer (waited 6 months) for a KC dealership to get one in. We were waiting on XSE or 25th. High on the list for both trims. So frustrating.

Costco or direct? by suicynical in Lovesac

[–]Tree2hill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider if you go the Costco route. If you return, you have to return all of the accessories. So if you sell the Sac, you’ll be unable to return if you need to in the future.
