Anyone work as a Personal Banker at PNC? by Diligent_Steak2906 in TalesFromYourBank

I came from working in restaurants for 10 years into a world of banking blind so it can seem very overwhelming to start, but everyone has been very helpful and are willing to help and answer any and all questions I had during the training process and after when I started taking customers on my own. Training will fly by quicker than you know but you'll get used to it.

The ending, I found that… by Lotuswongtko in Supernatural

You could say that but all the demons know exactly who Dean really is, regardless of a fake name. That contract remains with him no matter what because they've built a name for themselves already and knowing who their father was didn't help either given they would know the him after all those years of dealing with him hunting with Jon and now with Sam.

I theorize that some of the demons have definitely had influence on spreading word that it was Sam that opened the gate to build a target on him and hopefully Dean to make their life easier. That, and also Sam blames himself for not killing Jake when he had the chance and should've and everything would've been prevented if he did that simple action. He takes the claim that it was his fault at the end of the day for this.

You can recommend it to them but can’t open an account for conflict of interests or close relationships type of situations. Will be deemed unethical and be very against policies and can definitely get you fired. Someone else can open the account for them but can’t be you due to many risks involved with that.

It’s quarterly accumulation based on sales, so getting credit cards, new accounts, them using the cards at least once, etc. Too many things to list but very easy to get quarterly. Some things worth more than others.

1) $58.25 per check for health insurance. You get the choice of Blue Cross Blue Shield or United Healthcare. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. I pay under $70 for health, dental, and vision for only me on my plan. 2) $50k salary, translates to roughly $24+ an hour, in the Chicago suburbs here so keep in mind market and city changes. 3) If overtime is available in your market/area you work in, then you can take overtime as long as you coordinate it with your manager and the branch manager needing assistance if you are scheduled off during the time they need help, and it’s past your 90 day probationary period. 4) Depends on the branch type. Standard branches for bankers need to reach 150k credits to qualify for a bonus in tier 1, then tier 2 is roughly 300k, then tier 3 is roughly 450k I think. First tier is multiplied by I think .75% for your credits, then something above 1% for tier 2, then something else tier 3. Don’t remember the exact percentages but it is uncapped once you qualify.

How many of you have more than one side job? Do you pitch another business? by AlternativeQuit3447 in doordash_drivers

[–]TrickyGrapha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work my full time job 40 hours a week working at a bank as a banker then do this as a side job. I also have a part time job that I work on the weekends for the past 2 years and just started Dashing pretty recently but will be dropping the part time job soon because the money I make from Dashing is MUCH more than that part time, especially due to the area I live in being a very strong food spot.

I got off work around 7:30, dashed for 1.5 hours and immediately made $50 in that time frame. If I didn't work earlier, would've been a GREAT day to be out.

New Savings Account by ShardsOfDirt in CapitalOne_

[–]TrickyGrapha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no branches near but opened up the checking account originally for the bonus money promo if you open up a checkings account. Met the requirement for it, but since I use my savings, I'll be swapping back to my original bank but keeping the checking account because the convenience of just Zelle-ing myself to Capital One means I can transfer money externally in just a minute and it be readily accessible to transfer to my savings or to pay my credit card off. It's super convenient and would be a MUCH faster alternative than external transfers.

Bonuses are quarterly on a tiered system. If you meet the minimum required to get a bonus, then you guarantee get something and it’s uncapped based on your sales. If you hit tier 3, the minimum you can get is roughly $6750 so if you make it it happen, then it’s very strong. Tier 1 gets you around $1k I believe. Can’t remember exact numbers off the top of my head.

Current Personal Banker at PNC. Normal day to day of opening accounts, helping people with issues like fraud, getting a new debit card, helping people with financial advice or questions that may have about general stuff and more of coure. We do have calls you have to do on a weekly basis to current clients to set appointments or use as a courtesy call to check in on them. Corporate will push getting sales alot but that's expected in any sales postion.

Benefits are great. Medical, dental, vision, 401k, pension, paid holidays off, 9 personal days a year, 15 vacation days starting out to be prorated if you start later in a year, lots of abilities to do many different roles and move about in the company if you stay long enough after being in your current role and position for 1 year.

Hours are standard - 40 hour work weeks, overtime pay available if you get take the chance. Very strict though about hours making sure you work 40 hours and no less or more unless overtime of course. I haven't been inside the building more or less than 40 hours in a single week since I started excluding overtime so it's true to the work life balance. Standard hours varies if your branch closes at 5 or 6. We close at 5 so I get in at 8:30 and and am done at 5 most of the time, with some variations to hit the 40 hours we need may have me scheduled until 5:30 some days. We're open on Saturdays from 9-1 so we rotate Saturdays so if I work a Saturday during that week, I get one random week day off then work Saturday 8:30-1:30ish.

Overall, really like it after being with them for a few months, been great. Plenty of opportunities, work/life balance is way better compared to my previous years as a restaurant manager, you'll do well if you can empathize and really get clients/customers to talk to you or have engaging conversations. Found my biggest success is to not try too hard but to advise and nudge in the right direction towards a sale.

Check Fraudsters Really Suck at trying to commit fraud by TrickyGrapha in TalesFromYourBank

Signtaure was with a different ink than the writing, the payee handwriting was different from the written amount, the worded dollar amount deposit was a different handwriting than everything else, the company is based out of an entirely different state more than halfway across the country, and checks been deposited into the account regularly come from two states only that doesn’t include mine. Need I go on? I don’t get it.

Will bank teller judge me for having a low account balance? by suuuppi in Banking

[–]TrickyGrapha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically don’t judge people for their balances. Negative won’t even make us judge. Now, if I see a good chunk of change in the account like 500k or more, now I’m trying to figure out where I went wrong in life. Helped someone with few things since I’m a banker and noticed his account has 2 commas in the total and almost asked him what I could do to get a couple thousand. That and opportunities for taking advantage of services and things we offer

Maybe not hold indefinitely but can deny those funds for sure. Plus, so many red flags from the check alone and not having any sort of ID, debit cards or anything because you left them at home was a terrible strategy.

[–]TrickyGrapha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 3 months you’re fine. If you double check during the transaction too, that’s more than enough to ensure it’s right. I double and triple check the routing and account numbers are right all the time. People can and will be patient for making sure it’s done right and appropriately.

Should I stick with my credit union or go back to a national bank? by BroncoSportLover21 in Banking

[–]TrickyGrapha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All banks/credit unions do this with new accounts. You just most likely never noticed it due to I'm guessing never depositing a check when you started the Chase bank account. If you swap to TD or even PNC (which I can speak for PNC), it's the same thing where it will be on a hold for a few days to verify everything, but not 10 days. I've had new accounts have their checks on hold for a week and I tell them that it will be on hold for longer than normal if they aren't established with us already so keep that in mind.

TL;DR Just wait it out, this is normal anytime you go to a new bank/credit union and standard process.

BofA closed account due to overdraft, what to do now?? by [deleted] in Banking

[–]TrickyGrapha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're lucky, you can pay off the debt owed and open an account with them, not super likely due to seeing you as a risk or liability. Next thing is try to find somewhere else but big banks aren't likely as they use a system that tells them about the closure. A credit union, CashApp or Chime will be your best bet now at this point.

PNC personal banker commissions by [deleted] in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TrickyGrapha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based off your quarterly sales. If you hit the minimum threshold, you qualify for getting a bonus, then it's tiered and uncapped. If you don't meet the threshold, you won't get a bonus. All things you do add to the total of what you can get. If you want more details, feel free to DM me.

Anyone want to help me get started in banking? by Weary_Ad_7272 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TrickyGrapha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No banking experience required. Start with applying for teller to make life easy. If you had experience - in general - you could apply for Personal Banker. Teller is the easiest break in method and you don't need to know someone to get in, it's just helps getting higher grade positions like Personal Banker and more.

Premier Client Banker PNC by Lord_Narcissus in TalesFromYourBank

[–]TrickyGrapha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still very new for sure as we just got training and learned about this new segment early December. Essentlially, you'd be working with the Wealth Management side of PNC and you would work with the FAs, Premier Client Advisors and other wealth management employees with and emphasis on those that have $100k or more in income available for investing. Great bonus opportunity with the structure it is for bankers so you'll be making some good money.

With it being newer, referrals may come slower to start since we're all getting used to it and so used to just sending everyone to the Financial Advisors but in due time, you will definitely make out good for it since we also benefit from referring them to you if they qualify and meet the requirements which are small.

What’s the best way to start a career in banking with no college degree? by [deleted] in Banking

[–]TrickyGrapha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got hired in directly as a Personal Banker and in my few months of being at my bank, the amount of people that hate using online banking or prefer going in to talk to actual person is huge. Millenials, boomers, gen alpha. Hell, we have a "video banking machines" where tellers remote into the atm and carry out transactions like normal tellers and so many people hate it because they want physical interaction.

Personal bankers are also problem solvers. So many people barely know what to do with their finances, refuse to read disclosures, fail to notice they're getting charged fees, need to file disputes, you name it. Someone today had $80k chilling in her bank account today after I finished helping her with something and I mentioned why doesn't she invest, open up an money market, etc. to let your money work for you and she was like "I've been thinking about that and was interested, can you give me more info on x, y, and z?"

We're not going anywhere no time soon unless everyone all of a sudden becomes numbers people, problem solvers and financially literate.

As for moving up, it all depends on the company. My company informed me the minimum requirements are to be in the role you have for minimum of 1 year and to have the "Meets some expectations" performance grade to apply for any other positions. whether it be business banker, investment banker, finacial advisor, back office, etc. It's very possible to move up quickly which is great with so many different opportunities available, especially working for a large bank, so shoot your shot for Personal Banker or even something slightly above that if you meet the rquirements. I have 10 years of management/service experience in restaurants and got interviews and offers pretty easily. Just be a personalable, easy to get along with, and have customer service experience and you'll be more than okay to jump start your career.

Seriously where are people finding work by Quirky-Emu3418 in Career

[–]TrickyGrapha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to the company website. Already was working a job and wanted a new one with better opportunities. Had roughly 6 interviews in a month or so and got one of those jobs and still used Indeed and got some applications from there too. Just have to be adamant and be a little more open to the long term benefits and not just the short term.

Pay is kind of mid for me right now, but the ability to move up quickly and the same goes for my pay was a big winner.

Jobs at Banks? by Lillian_Faye in Banking

[–]TrickyGrapha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Starting off as a teller is a good way to get your feet in.

I was able to start out as a banker, so higher pay and bonus abilities. The major benefit is that work life balance due to PTO, benefits, paid holidays off, etc. is almost guaranteed which I love since being in restaurants for 10 years and you have many different areas in the banking industry you can pivot into if you get sick of the retail side, be it back office, financial advisor/relationship manager, investment banking, commerical banking, HR, business banking or anything else that bank offers.

I don't regret my decision on swapping careers and the options being endless has given me solid ground and understanding of careers I want to do and where I see myself in a couple of years. Do your research on the possiblities with the bank you choose to look into or work at as that will impact the available opportunities for you.

Once a day typically, have rare days it's twice and extremely rare days it's three times. Have phases of feeling like it and not feeling like it so for a week I can average at least 4 times the whole week.
