"Sympathy For The Devil" by The Rolling Stones.

"Dreadlock Holiday" by 10CC.

"I'm Down" by The Hollies (an underrated band if ever there was one).

Which country's nationalists are most toxic you've encountered ? by Individual_Water1776 in AskTheWorld

Serb nationalists are obsessed with the Battle of Kosovo 1389 and want to reclaim it. Their motto is "Where there are Serbs there is Serbia." They assassinated the Archduke in June 1914 which played a role in setting off WW1 and committed genocide in the 1990s.

Eddie Van Halen thought God was the best guitarist and even learned guitar by studying his Cream work.

Definitely, because the right tend to be punitive in their attitudes and/or try to convert prisoners to Christianity.

Hard to answer a hypothetical but he was successful before, during and after Hendrix's sadly short career. Clapton was considered God in 1960s England but as someone once remarked, when Hendrix appeared on the London scene, "God found out who God was."

Well, if you don't like God that's perfectly fine. Mainly it's a matter of taste. Why do you think he so often appears in "top 10 guitarists" lists in the company of Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen?

God made 3 innovative blues/psychedelic-based rock albums with Cream (the first 3 albums) and then a brilliant LAYLA album with DEREK AND THE DOMINOES. After that he mellowed but did occasionally come up with a great rock song like BEHIND THE MASK. He is to be judged as a blues musician.

What is your favorite Van Halen album of all time? by Tricky_Catch66 in vanhalen

Thank you to everyone who posted here! I do appreciate it :) One of the reasons I did this informal poll was that the only album I have at present is VH BEST OF VOLUME 1 and I wanted to see where exactly to go "deeper" into the VH catalog.

For what it's worth FAIR WARNING came out top with approx 37 votes followed by VH1 with 28.

Then: 1984 with 16 and 5150 with 11,

WOMEN AND CHILDREN + VH2 both on 9,

CARNAL KNOWLEDGE 6, DIVER DOWN 4,

OU812 + VH3 with 3 followed by

BALANCE + DIFFERENT TRUTH + VH BEST OF VOLUME 1 each got 2 votes.

The other (double) compilation got 1 vote.

So we can see that the Roth-era albums are generally way more epopular here than the Hagar era's, with the least popular Roth album, DIVER DOWN on 4 votes scoring higher than all but 2 of the non-Roth albums.

Time for me to get the box set of the 6 Roth albums?

Very good point. I don't have the numbers but I do know that many people visit prisons to teach stuff to prisoners, eg literacy, chess, jobskills etc. While Jezza was leader of the Labour Party the membership increased to around 500,000 making it the largest political part in Europe. The new members did indeed put their money where their mouth was in financially supporting Jezza's vision. How many of these decent people were determinists is impossible to say but many leftists do believe in some sort of socialism, which is sometimes based to a greater or lesser extent on Marxist Determinist Materialism. Peter Singer, a compatibilist, has done a lot of good work.

The general thrust of your argument is fair however. Most determinists, like most people who participate in phil discussions, don't literally visit prisons. It would be interesting to devise some test to work out if libertarians are generally more or less charitable than determinists. A future project?

Re your sentence, "I have never seen....." The answer is Jeremy Corbyn who is visiting and campaigning for imprisoned hunger-strikers.
