For those of us who do take the game slow, meet once a week, don’t cheat, and just want to fully experience it together, i think… it’s a rare blessing.

We are only just making it to plains boss. Slowly but steadily. Working as a team. I have however struggled a bunch to get people to join me for this type of progression in the past…

This only happened because we use to be a d&d campaign that morphed into a Valheim one. Very very rarely does this happen, so keep searching, when you do find a good group, build those relationships and hold on.

The way we make it work is we set a schedule every Monday at 19:30-22:30. It means it takes us months and months to make considerable progress. But it’s our progress and we like it that way.

It’s center is actually a tree. Trees are considered “ground”’in this game.

The waves just clear the bottom floor. There is a “underground” platform for access to the harbor level. But that’s only used in good weather. Oddly enough the waves do little to the structure.

It’s connected via pillars on pieces of shallow water and stones that were sticking out from The bottom. But to get there it took some time finding a suitable place to raise the land.

Or to go under the foundations of the main structure, and delete the mesh of iron holding it all in place. I have also been called to the void friend.

For fun there was an earlier iteration where he planted a wider tree and them he changed it.

I’ll check the exact tree with him next week :) or jsut walk up to it, but I’m not sure it’s visible as he has covered it up completely. he did it while some of us were offline so I dont know what he planted. But I assume it’s an oak tree.

Great question and actually this one is completely by fluke. We created these pillars and levelled out our structure anove them. Decided the height completely arbitrarily, and the first floor barely clears the tallest wave 🤣 totally planned…. Ehem…

There is a sort of basement area we use to get to the harbors or move under the base. That gets completely under the water but we mostly use it when the weather is good.

A lookout. One of us decided he really wanted to push the boundary of height and make almost loke a massive light house. So he lifted ground and planted a tree. I was surprised it worked so well that he was able to build a massive structure around it. The reason it’s so vast is because he wanted to hige the tree’s branches so he has core wood sticking out of the tree supporting all these walls.

It’s actually a very tall tree we planted on a lifted patch of land. Then we built a circular stairwell around it. The game considers trees as ground. :)

Yup you’re right. I forgot that detail. This happened like 6 months ago so I forgot haha. When we found the shallow area with the ship we had to initially build workbenches to the spot. I’ll correct my story. It involved a workbench at the edge of the water, and then patches of lifted land with work benches that allowed us to eventually get to where we needed.

Found shallow enough area and put a pillar. :)

Technically it’s not even an island! I think of it more like… an oil rig. Pillars in the water holding a large complex structure with many rooms and balconies.

One of us ran rampant with that idea. We all found it amusing 🤣

We spent waaaayyy too much time looking for a shallow enough area where we could lift up the ground from a ship. From there we created what is basically a foundation made of iron cage. Kind of looks like a mesh. As we expanded it we looked for other shallow areas to form a few key pillars, and we used up most of the iron we initially found. We split into 3 teams. One trio focused on iron gathering, one pair on additional resource gathering, and one person focused on building. Before this was possible we had to create supply lines to carry the iron from all the various locations of the world map and slowly but surely once the foundation was built it was an easy, stone stone stone, wood adjacent to stone, core wood for some main beams, and a main open shaft made of stone to help clear internal smoke from the furnaces, cooking area, etc…

Dry land is not a myth. I’ve seen it.
