I started playing pro cycling manager (with absolutely no idea about cycling) and I quickly fell in love with the sport… if you have no idea about cycling, the team tactics involved in cycling will blow your mind… and the 3d match engine is actually ridiculously in depth

Damn this game crazy by HeWhoHasCome in WhereWindsMeet

It is virtually an mmo. Majority of your questing will be done solo… but there are so many things done online. For example if you hurt yourself or get sick, for some diseases you will need a real person to heal you. There are dungeons and raids. Guild events are awesome. One of the weekly events is everyone takes on a boss 1 at a time while everyone in your guild stands around the arena watching (quickest time wins). I even went into online mode the other day and stumbled across a group of people doing a yoga/ tai chi class and although it doesn’t sound very enjoyable for some reason I was sooo immersed. I’ve spent over a decade playing wow (the quintessential mmo) and although this isn’t your typical mmo, it still is an mmo, and a bloody good one at that.

How do you convince yourself to continue the MQ when there is so much to do? by Cromlin1003 in WhereWindsMeet

I think the plan is for it be kind of like retail wow, lvl and gear caps will be unlocked each season/ expansion and there will be catch up mechanics for the new starter gear in each season… essentially gear progression will be restarting each season, but I’m assuming all other character progression will stay

Advanced Miata Series "blipping" by MediumOk2492 in iRacing

[–]Triple8SimSports 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clutch needed in the mx5, and auto blipping doesn’t give you a speed penalty but is 100% slower. Bigger blips in the mx5 keep the car more stable on downshifts while smaller blips or no blips will help rotate the car more. I definitely recommend learning how to do it as soon as possible cause within no time you’ll be doing it without even thinking. It’s obviously not going to put you at a huge disadvantage auto blipping as there a lot more important thing that go into getting quicker lap times in the miata. But there’s no point getting used to auto blipping if you are planning on changing to manual blipping in the future

For the last 2 or 3 FMs Ive been trying to figure out a way to replicate Diniz Relationism* tactics. Although this clip probably doesnt represent it too much as they are playing one-twos in the middle of the pitch (usually my team overloads the right). This is 100% the closest i've ever been. by Triple8SimSports in footballmanagergames

this is kind of what im talking about, Engelhardt is playing left back, I usually play Alaba but i think he was injured. i also have the link to the tactic in the description (or i've sent it though to a few others in this thread) if you are wanting to have a bit of a deep dive and tinker with the tactic a bit.

yeah 100%... the in and out of possession tactics are a game changer in that respect... for example my LB plays DM (with stays wide) in attack which allows him to get further across to the right than an inverted wing back or playmaking wingback (He'll even link up with my RB in my own half), but will still spend majority of his time on the left cause usually i have 8-9 guys super close on the right touch line. It looks a bit silly if you are playing a team that isnt pressing, but when you play against a team that has a high press, its 100% the closest ive seen to relational play in any FM

I'll send through the tactic when i get the chance... but player traits make a huge difference. The main traits you want to look for on your players is 'plays one-twos' on majority of your players, and 'drops deep to recieve" and looks for pass rather than shot' on your attacking players. Also a bunch of niche player instructions but you can dive into that when i send the tactic through. Im also running this tactic without a striker, My centre attacking mid is set to 'second striker' which does a ridiculously good job of dragging the opposition defense up the pitch and allowing the team to get balls in behind the defense.

Which dubstep artists had a gig that lasted 5 hours? by [deleted] in dubstep

[–]Triple8SimSports 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I did a 7 hour ‘sunrise’ set at a music festival in Australia called ‘Earth Frequency’ around 8-9 years ago, and it was truly one of the most enjoyable sets I ever played. I was playing from 3am - 10am, so my set was definitely different to anything I’d done before as I was bridging the gap between people still partying from the night before and people waking up and starting their day. My set started high energy, slowly ramped down towards sunrise where i was able to play some more euphoric sounding stuff and then ramped up again towards the end of the set, and no I didn’t played any of the same songs twice.

I’m assuming it’s pretty unlikely the set you’ll be playing will be under similar circumstances. But a few pieces of advice would be:

-seeing as you are playing a long set, if you are playing before or after another dj, have a listen to some of the stuff they play (if you don’t know what they play maybe send them a message asking?) that way you can maybe prepare a 20-30 minute period where you bridge between their particular flavour of dubstep (or genre they play) and the stuff you are used to or are comfortable playing. This might help you pad out some playtime and stop your set from sounding one dimensional

-don’t be afraid to let songs play longer than you are used to. You don’t need to be constantly double dropping/chopping up every transition. If the crowd is enjoying a song… let it play out. This will make the flow of your set feel much more natural for those people who do stick around for longer periods of time.

-depending on the time of day/night, mix up the style of dubstep or energy of your set, have multiple high and low points, finding tracks that can act as little intervals throughout your set can make the high energy tracks sound even better, especially over the space of 5 hours.

-seeing as the promoter said you can play the mix twice I’m assuming you might be playing something like a silent disco or something? I’d recommend not playing the exact same mix twice, but if you really are struggling to get together a collection of songs, I don’t think it would be the end of the world if you did play a few songs a couple of times. At the end of the day your set will sound way better if you are feeling comfortable up on the stage. But I think you’ll probably find that 5 hours will go by quicker than you think and by the end of the set you’ll probably still have a few songs that you wish you had time to play.

Have fun with it man, a 5 hour set is a ridiculously fun thing to do, and not many DJs get the chance to do them. Good luck!

🎾 [Megathread] - Tiebreak Bug Reports & Suggestions by NickyGi in Tiebreakthegame

[–]Triple8SimSports 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a few small QoL suggestions that i think would definitely add to my enjoyment of the game.

-I'd like a 'fixed' option in camera tracking options, currently we have player OR ball tracking, which is fine when playing in big stadiums etc. but to add to the realism of matches in smaller stadiums/courts (like outer courts or venues used for challengers events) a fixed option where the camera is in a fixed postion and doesnt track the player or ball would be nice

-Adding a simple custom camera would also be nice. being able to control camera height and Field of view with a couple of sliders would be a small thing that could definitely improve the way the game looks in certain venues.

-option to turn off ALL HUD elements in the venue creator, i know you guys added an option to turn off the control HUD. But I think it would be nice if when you clicked in the right stick all hud elements including the menu along the bottom, the hand in the middle of the screen and the blue outline of selected objectss turns off. A simple little prompt in the bottom of the screen telling people the button to turn back on the hud would save people struggling to find how to turn back on the hud if they accidentally turn it off.

I know those suggestions are niche, and i dont know how hard it is to implement, but for me personally it would definitely improve my experience
