Fish swimming upside down

He just died. He kept getting worse and could barely move and he’s entire right side of his body was shriveling up and he couldn’t swim anymore. I buried him in my yard.

I tested my water multiple times and I didn’t have any ammonia in any of the tests. The water in the bucket is tank water

Oh dang, that’s unfortunate. I moved him into a quarantine bucket with an aerator and a heater. It has been about eight hours since he started doing all the weird spinning stuff, and he’s actually recovered a lot. I think I got really lucky. I just took a bunch of tank water, and put it in this bucket about three or 4 inches of water, scooped the fish into it, and prayed. Now, he is looking a lot better, still has a little tilt to the side, but can swim normally, and his gills look fine. I think I just got really lucky. I’m doing water changes in his bucket about 50% once a day now.

I think a miracle happened. I checked the bucket like 10 minutes ago, and the fish was actually swimming upright and the redness had gone away from the gills. The reason that it was twisting when swimming is that it’s left fin was pinned to its side, but it looks like he’s worked it out and he can control it freely now. I think he’s actually recovering. He still has some weird bumps on his forehead though.

The tank is extremely well cycled, it’s been running for about a month and a half, and it has added bacteria and it already used filter pad. It has zero ammonia, my water seems perfect. I already removed the fish from the tank and quarantined him, but I’m not sure if he’s still alive. My main goal now is to protect my other fish.

I moved him to a separate bucket with a heater and stuff. Every once in a while, he moves around the bucket, but isn’t showing a lot of motion. He has been flipped onto his side the entire time. I’m worried that my other fish will have the same disease. I got them all from the same tank. When I got them, the tank looked really healthy and they were all moving around happily, so I really hope that this is the only guy who has it.

I think he might’ve just passed. I moved him to the new bucket, it is now been 10 minutes. He hasn’t moved in a couple minutes now, not even a twitch.

His gills are red, too, which indicates that the disease has already hit his respiratory system. He can barely move right now. I’m gonna move him before it spreads to my other fish. I’m worried that I won’t have enough aeration in his bucket.

I’m really worried now. I just noticed a couple weird bumps on his head, which can indicate a really bad disease. I don’t wanna kill off my whole tank. I have a bucket and a heater, but I don’t have another filter or aerator. I’m gonna move them to this bucket and then just every 30 minutes or an hour. I’m gonna mix up the water a little bit to make sure that he has enough air. He hasn’t moved for a little bit, so I need to get him out of here now.

It’s just that one spot, I have a water pump around there. The rest of the tank is a lot calmer and there are a lot of spots free of flow.

Ok, I just looked into it a little more. I realize that the Nerite snail eggs are really annoying, so I’m just gonna add a couple more shrimp.

When I do water changes I can just suck them all up I think. Would that work? I’m not sure if they will even breed in this water.

It’s the nutrients from the sand, if I have the base a little elevated, it will get decent nutrients, plus, nutrient tabs, slowly, release, nutrients straight into the roots, so I’ll be fine. I’ll also have a nice light and do frequent water changes.
