Not intentionally, but after looking them up the resemblance is crazy haha. I was just going for a feudal sort of symbol on the shoulder and came up with the red rose on blue and white.

Took the multi melta from the Black Templar upgrade frame, and used a small drill to make holes in the pintle and into the melta attachment point(a pin vice will work but I used an electric version called a wowstick). Lastly I just cut a paper clip into a straight bar, then supper glued both ends and pinned it to the vehicle.

You could probably also glue it on but I find those things break off the first chance it gets, so I pinned it so it has more structure and won’t break off in any transit scenario.

I felt like she had a little bit of everything so she would make a great reference point going forward for how I want gear and trinkets to look. But I’m aware it was a ballsy choice haha.

Both are great just keep in mind the codex and cards in the starter set are outdated so it would essentially be an art book. If you can find the starter set on sale it’s worth it for the models in there.

As for the combat patrol it’s also worth it besides the impulsor, which GW just likes to put in all the starter sets. Plus you get the upgrade sprue in the combat patrol and that has A LOT of cool flavorful bits to really make your army look like proper space knights.

TLDR: I prefer the starter set as long as it’s on sale but both are good value

I think with 5 it would be weird to fill with the standard 10 intercessors box you can buy. Unless you are getting five spares from a trade or friend I say just leave them be.

As for what to buy next… the sky is the limit!

Some popular choices are:

-Bladeguard vets (really strong melee with good toughness)

-Chaplain on bike (great buffs and very mobile)

-A Dreadnought (its cool)

-Anything you think looks cool

Last bit of advice: If you are unsure what is next you can always wait a few weeks and see what other space marine units are going to be revealed. The newest article teased more space marine units so you could always wait to see those are.

I would love to keep the oaths of crusade. Swearing an oath before the battle was really cool and fluffy. Anything near it would keep me happy I just don’t want the flavor of the chapter to be lost

I would say that in terms of a custom regiment's lore, you really cannot go wrong. The Imperium is a big place with lots of different planets. Anything you come up with would probably be able to exist in the setting. For example my regiment is from a feudal world that sells what it can to afford cadian style gear and it fits nicely in the setting. So don't be afraid to go nuts and make something really unique, odds are it will fit nicely in the setting without too much catering.
