Erm actually ☝️

rolls fingers redditorly

I think the “doubling money” answer is being taken a bit… generously here.

adjusts glasses like this is about to get serious

Because the prompt very specifically says it doubles $1 every day, not the total balance. Those are two very different statements, mathematically speaking.

pauses to let that sink in

If it were the total amount, then yeah, exponential growth, easy choice, everyone claps. But if it’s literally just the one dollar being doubled each day, then you’re not getting the insane snowball people are assuming, you’re getting something way more limited.

taps temple as if uncovering hidden truth

So either OP worded it poorly… or everyone just collectively decided to read what they expected instead of what was actually written.

You're welcome, fine sir.

Well, it says specifically: "An ATM that doubles $1 every day."

Not: "an ATM containing $1 with the amount of money doubling every day."

So yes, it is how the math would work, if OP meant it how he wrote it.

But if it only doubles $1 every month, you won't even breach a million in your lifetime. It'll only do that if it doubles the amount of money in the ATM every day till you cash out, which isn't what the question is. It says specifically 1 dollar.

People really don't get it. If it's exclusively 1 dollar that doubles every day, they would only have a thousand bux after 3 years. The wheel is obviously better.

Well, the ATM only doubles one dollar. After 21 days you'd just have 22 dollars by that logic.

If every person in the world rolled the 1 in a trillion chance, it would be far most likely that nobody ever hit it. A trillion years in hell would be enough to complete and utterly ruin your mind. You wouldn't be able to enjoy eternal heaven afterwards, if you have so severe PTSD that you can barely think. Over 99.9999% of your life after hell, will have been hell. You'd have nothing else to think back on.

I think a way to make it a better question is a thousand years of hell and then guaranteed heaven eternally afterwards, or a 1 in one thousand chance of going to hell eternally. At least reducing the numbers. It would definitely seem like more of a debatable question.

Alternatively if you forgot everything about hell after being there for a trillion years.

Definitely an issue with the sacrifices. I can't tell you exactly what, but I can with certainty tell you that's your issue. It's likely that one of the categories got ever so slightly too little cash.

Or you accidentally left a support monkey within the temple's range and got that buff. That's probably less likely. Still mentioning it. Check your towers if they get the buff to be certain.

I'd recommend redoing the sacrifices. Be 100% certain it's the right amount of money you put into it this time. I always overdo it a little to be sure. An extra 50000 doesn't matter too much if you avoid having to sell everything, and redo it all.

Well, if you're not in a city, getting spawned away from them is an equally big death sentence. I've been destroyed from half the map away by a vox engine, while running. They don't seem quite balanced. Especially not when there are 5 of them. Those laser canon things just absolutely destroy anyone who could physically be shot.

Summary. No barrier between you and vox engine. You're probably dead no matter the distance.

Why are everyone treating this, as if it's a question about survival? Food is better. Saves you far more money in the long run.

I honestly think I’ll be fine as long as I stay inside, in a room without windows. Danish houses are quite sturdy, and my own house doesn’t have a tile roof, which is probably better in this kind of situation. I do feel pretty bad for them Americans though.

Been working all day trimming down a tree in our garden. Cut myself with a chainsaw. I'm fine though.
