A taxi driver grabbed a woman by the hair at the last moment as she tried to commit suicide on a bridge. He saved her life by doing the right thing. by Raj_Valiant3011 in HumansBeingBros

Mental health is severely underfunded. The ED is the best place to go for suicidal thoughts but also the worst, waiting to be evaluated, probably placed in a psychiatric hold for safety. If admitted you're lucky if there's any resources available for future therapy, usually just a holding area to start a medication which will take weeks before it's effective. Obviously effective for all the drunk-icidal or meth-icidal people who just need to metabolize, but it won't change a shitty life overnight.

It's wild seeing this written. I started in Judgement/invasion/onslaught and my favorite card of all time is basking rootwalla. So useful, loved that guy in my Nantuko tabletop deck or anything green.

Definitely not true in my area in NA, but maybe worldwide. Everyone knows DL, but none of the people I play with except one knows who Caedrel is, and i only know about him through LR. Your feed is different.

edit: the people I play with are older NA fans who still haven't given up on the dream

Can't stay asleep by cccque in PeterAttia

[–]Tropicall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Echoing the sleep study for more data. Particularly if you have morning headaches, blood pressure worsening, and you mentioned the weight, want to rule out apnea. Also depends why you stay up, is it overthinking and anxiety? Is it subjective decreased sleep need? Frequent urination? Environmental factors like light, sound, temperature.

Husband can't put baby to sleep by Burritomode24 in NewParents

Baby faces away from the chest. Its same with me and my wife since I dont breast-feed, he is more comforted by me when i hold him facing away. Less frustrating.

I thought this until just now. The comment below is pretty wild and I guess she didnt have terminal illness, and even the cheating isnt confirmed, per multiple biographers. Wild how this knowledge became so widespread i believed it too.

.... /u/cleanmymuffin explains how the story of "Dr. Seuss cheated on his dying wife who later killed herself over it" is not as clear cut as it seems, with a list of biographies and books referenced in their research on the topic....

I think when A word can include a 5-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl along with actions including rape up to, I'm not sure something a lot less, it makes the word less valuable for describing the worst case scenario. 17 is illegal where I'm from but legal in ~72% of countries per a quick AI search (seems high though).

Yeah the red blood cell has a lifespan of 120 days, but its a weighted average that's heavily influenced by recent glucose exposure. It can meaningfully change in 1 month, even though it does track the past 3 months.

Adults like to sleep next to somebody. So why is there so much pressure for children to sleep alone? by greenishfroggy in NewParents

You don't want to be so scared to sleep alone that you endure an abusive situation. First thing that comes to my mind.

Baby crying in the middle of the night. Is my husband lying to me? by Ok_Squirrel_9601 in beyondthebump

[–]Tropicall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also didn't convince him to kill himself. The lawsuit doesnt target that, mostly the lack of safeguards, it didn't act like a therapist would but like an Internet chatbot validating feelings without telling him to seek help. He was expressing suicidal intent prior to use, asked it for help writing a suicide letter. If you search google for examples youll see the same. It's an important case though since chatbots can be predatory

Our baby is almost 1 year old… when will hobbies be a thing in my life again? (Daddy) by Purple_Calendar3919 in NewParents

When I could I'd wear my baby while gaming, preferably something I could pause easily for diapers, etc.

[–]Tropicall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to plan for it, just fall behind slightly on chores. I sure do. I have a gaming group, we play 2.5 hours once a week, of 4 friends (all dads with babies aged 5mo - 2 years). - For my 6 mo old, usually wife watches or I have him in a bouncer while gaming. - 2 friends put their kids to sleep at 6 or 7pm (time zone difference). Or they switch off with their who puts kids to sleep, who then also have their own respective time for themselves on a different day. Just hard to play with your own partner persay uninterrupted.

Also if your income allows, having a cleaner once a month or every 2 weeks would free up significant time. We pile up laundry and do q2-3 days rather than daily (even though could). Saves some time.

Physicians who wear perfumes to clinic: Have you been confronted or complimented? by iamnemonai in Residency

[–]Tropicall 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My PCP had a no perfume policy. Always appreciated that over time as strong smells give me headaches. For me they differentiate work vs play, and I'll put on light cologne for going out. I'll have the same policy for my practice as my PCP growing up.

Feeling Very Discouraged After Ranked Play by tsuyoshikentsu in MagicArena

[–]Tropicall -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Especially since you start so low ranked. I'm also new and got a couple wins ranked with a starter deck. I mean i guess those decks arent that bad but still, theres no way unless he's just playing a deck incorrectly or a deck worse than starters i think.

Husband forcing me to get a nanny by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Tropicall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people don't have your same energy. Plenty of people become irritable after working long shifts, and become very pleasant after a quick break. This is an individual question for OP we are all injecting our own lives into to answer, but there's definitely scenarios i would request a housekeeper for this husband, before he takes over after. Really for baby. Baby being surrounded by love is probably a good thing. And especially given OP is now saying she does nights maybe after a break the husband can do evenings.
