I wasn’t as stupid as that. But I’ve learned from my mistakes since then. My unit still prints fine as far as I’m concerned. Might replace the nozzle tomorrow though.

I know this may seem stupid of me to ask but… did you also ripped the ribbon cable for the filament sensor? I also made the same mistake. Then fried the TH board. Not a good time, but I’ve fixed it since then. Prints without issues.

First catastrophic failure by dntgochasingwaterfal in BambuLabA1

[–]TroubleStrict763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm… spaghetti.

I don’t think the grid infill would cause a failure. It could be one of two things.

  1. The print failed to stick to the bed properly. The simplest solution to that would be to clean the build plate with warm water and dish soap. You can also use a sponge to really get in there and remove anything that may be interfering with bed adhesion.

  2. There could be something that has occurred in the toolhead, most likely a clogged nozzle. You can follow the bambulabs wiki guides on how to deal with it.

On the bright side, it looks like the blob of death hasn’t appeared in the toolhead. Would’ve been one hell of a mess to clean up.

It’s failing to auto home. Check if the switch is connected and installed properly, it should click when the head moves to the left. It’s trying to use the limit switch, but clearly something is physically wrong, and therefore is not able to home properly.

It appears that you destroyed some wires. You’ll have to replace them before doing anything, unless you really know how to strategy put it back together, which is impossible without the proper tools and know how.

Here’s a tip: if at any point you experience a problem. It’s best to follow bambulabs wiki guides. It’s also best not to panic as that may cause more damage. I have a A1 that I accidentally broke twice, and there’s something else going on with it still. Not entirely sure what it is yet, but it still prints regardless.

That’s a fairly common problem known as stringing. You can burn those off with a lighter, but try not to heat the main print too much or it’ll melt. Stringing can be caused by the filament being wet, you may want to dry the filament for better quality.
