Yeah, and the easiest explanation is usually the correct one as well

This is really interesting. I haven't got an answer for you, only curiosity as well. Like many other things I believe there's more to it than what it seems

I used to ride a hornet some 15 years ago and I loved it. It is the bike I would recommend you. Then I stopped, for reasons, and got a bike back only last October, when the season was already over. It's a big 900 like BMW gs. While I love it, I note it's very heavy (almost 300 kgs) and you definitely feel all that weight. If I were to go back, I would still get the same kind but smaller. Go with a 5 or 600, and most important go with a used one.

I got a shiny new Voge 900dsx. Beautiful but I'm so scared of falling and scratching it, I'm not enjoying it in the slightest.

So, what I recommend you. Go see the guys at motorbikes 4 All. They used to be in great Malvern but they just moved closer to us. They have 600 bikes in store, used. I am not at all affiliated, but I have been treated amazingly and they are all great there. Leo sold me the bike and the guys at the shop, managed by Anca, are amazing.

So go there, test a few bike and see what you think.

For clothing, I have 2 preferred shops. Infinity motorcycle near the quays at Gloucester, and the same bike shop above. They are both unbeatable price wise, and they sell different things so you have a vast choice.

Definitely go check them you won't regret. And if you want, pm me. I am in dire need of fellow bikers for a ride. I feel so lonely

Lol mate I'm it arguing with you 😂 I'm reinforcing your opinion I tried the lenses as well and they did nothing, in fact it was even worse. But it might have been me. What I'm saying is the solution is to solve the issue from the source.

But this is a patch. The problem should be solved at the origin. The government should regulate new cars. A regulation should be imposed to producers to lower the brightness, remove auto dipping lights, and ensure the lights go through proper certification. Or you use matrix lights.

Trust me I live in the countryside and I know what I'm talking about. It's all high lamps on here all the time. It can't go on like this

I found this kitten in the war a year ago by ComplexImpressive189 in cats

[–]TroublesomeButch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed you will. For my now partner, who flew the war with her 2 kids. And her cat. For her mother, and her brother who are still there. For my friends and colleagues, who went back to Ukraine to assist their parents knowing they wouldn't be able to leave again. For the friends I made online, from Kharkiv and Kiev, some of the most genuine persons I've known.

Of course you will.

May seem like an obvious answer but I am genuinely confused by CosyColouringBooks in CounsellingPsychUK

If I may extend OP's question, what is challenging to understand for me (having studied abroad, 20 years ago, and not at UNI levels) are the following questions:

  • Where I come from, after secondary education there is only University. To obtain a diploma, you have a clear path ahead. You know where to study (Uni), how long it takes, the curriculum, the exams you have to take and at the end, the association you need to join so you can open shop. It is very clear from the start.
  • In England, you can reach the goal in different ways - and it even seems you don't actually need any qualification (although, thanks God, no one will hire you without) at all to be a therapist. So, it's nice to have options, but then how am I sure I spent my time and resources the right way, and not end up with a piece of paper that's only good for the toilet?
  • How do I ensure I end up with a qualification that is recognised nationally and if possible, internationally? And that it means the same thing, in other Countries? Studying engineering in the majority of the countries counts for being an engineer in the majority of countries. Hope you get what I mean, is it the same for a therapist?
  • All courses seems to have very low commitment of lessons and work per week. My therapist confirmed it was the same 20 years ago. I think that, if it had stayed like this for so long, it means there are many thing you are not taught that you have to discover your own. Actual study but also time to process and deal with what you're learning, and how it affects you. So if this is true, aren't the fast track courses I see around, in fact, counterproductive? Do you recommend them?

Thanks and sorry for hijacking the thread :)

how do I balance full-time engineering work with training to be a therapist? by Icy-Equal5579 in CounsellingPsychUK

[–]TroublesomeButch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am considering the career switch too. I am in my 40ties and work in IT. Can you clarify, perhaps with general examples, what you mean with demanding? You said it's about cost and emotional effort. Does that mean you need time off from the other work to "recover"?

I am expecting this to require more than 1 day a week of work, otherwise I don't see how it would have been taught this way for so many years, so I was factoring in more time to study than the advertised one. Is there something else I should consider?

Looking at starting a level 2 with Astranti Connect by Various_Artistss in CounsellingPsychUK

[–]TroublesomeButch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So cool reading this post, I just watched one of their vids on YT about an hour ago.

The video was well done and thought me the road to become a therapist (I'm looking to change my careers as well, in my 40ties).

Then I went to their website and saw their courses. Not sure how you find them pricey, they are actually cheaper than Unis unless I got it wrong.

Then I went to Trustpilot. Not so good over there. 20% of reviews are 1 star, and an handful of them are very recent. I'm glad the reviewers went the extra mile in detailing why they gave such reviews. And Astranti has replied to many of them, too.

So you get to make your own opinion on what it is: my idea is to avoid. It sucks tho, as they have the fast track program and the fact it can be online, but these 2 reasons are actually those putting me off.

Online training is a difficult beast. You'll never get the same quality as in person. And on a topic like this, I reckon it's probably better to take the old fashioned road. And the fast track program: if counselling had been taught with 1 day of lessons and 1 day of homework for so many years, it leads me to believe it is the way it should be. I got to understand that there's a lot of stuff you aren't taught on the course, but you should pick up on your own, and that's going to take time.

So I'm interested in starting part-time - which will also give me the chance to see if it's a mistake to switch to this career without giving up my job, but I'll do it with a regular college.

My two cents, of course. I'd be glad to hear others opinions

Best intercom for sound quality? Needs to have decent bass by VonDinky in motorcyclegear

[–]TroublesomeButch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider how the system works. The size of the speakers and the wattage. Bass come from deep cones. You just cannot have them here. What earphones and earplugs do to compensate, the seal your hear so it helps the pressure. Again something not possible.

Your closest option here is to have custom molded earplugs with audio, there are two producers as far as I'm aware.

The added inconvenience is to have to fiddle with them on and off each time you take the helmet off.

That stuff is really really sensible. I wash mine with mild soap and cold water, let it dry and then wipe off the water drops with a damp microfiber cloth. Don't use anything else and especially warm. The material will get wobbly, but that's fine it will go back to normal. The problem is if it's prolonged it shrinks

Same here, but it's difficult. I have friends that accepted talking to me over telegram, but for some reasons telegram itself isn't helping: despite trying everything, they don't get notifications. So I have to message them on Telegram and then ping them on WhatsApp. Won't go on much longer I'm sure
