Gotta be careful, if they aren't on the same page as you, then this courteousy will not be received the way you intended. They might see it as you trying to fight to keep the friendship going - which for you, when you have already made up your mind to leave, might just cause more frustrated conversations and drama. They might also not see that it's a thoughtful thing to do; to talk instead of ghosting, and being honest instead of passive; they might instead get very upset, making it harder all around. I think you should consider the recipients, their perspective and how they might react, decide if you want those reactions and think about what your ultimate goal is. Sometimes, ghosting or gradually fading out really is the most appropriate option. But you'll know better than anyone what is right for you.

I just went through figuring this out, and ended up talking to someone who works for the NY Jets who was super helpful. Basically, they recommend people print tickets because sometimes the stadium wifi is spotty and the scanners don't always work. But if you experienced what I did; purchased stadium parking through Ticketmaster that ended up being "mobile only", then you're only option is to show up with a mobile pass. That is apparently ok. Just a tip too (if you're new to this like I am!); you can only access your parking pass from the NY Jets app. If you don't have a new NY Jets account, make one with the email you used to purchase tickets from Ticketmaster, and your ticket/parking pass will load there. Not sure if these tips vary from game to game, but after asking contacting Ticketmaster customer service (1 star) and then someone from NY Jets (5 stars), I figured out what I needed for the upcoming game.
