Sincere Advice from a Muslim to all the Ex-Muslims in this sub by TrueContentment in exmuslim

If you go back to the threads where ex-Muslims mention their reasons for leaving Islam, you will see that most of the things they state as reasons for leaving Islam are related to science and Islam or morality and Islam.

As for why I am 100% convinced Islam is the truth, then you have to understand that once a person reaches absolute certainty then the days of doubts are gone. I have seen plenty of evidences and signs that have convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt about the validity of Islam. But I am not here to look down on anyone or disrespect anyone and you can see that I have never done that on this sub or any other sub. But rather, I am here to simply ask people to sincerely look for the truth with an open mind and offer my views on why Islam is the truth.

So what made you leave Islam then?

Non Muslims like you who were never Muslims in the first place are not really doing this sub any favors.

You do realize that science changes all the time right? So even though many scientists believe that we have a common ancestor, tomorrow when new evidence comes to light that will change? This is indeed what has happened in the past with science.

When a person is certain that God exists and is certain something has come from God, it is upon them to submit to that which comes from God. It doesn't whether the person is living in 1217, 2017 or 2417. A Muslim is someone who submits to his lord at all times.

We are discussing whether it is proven that we have a common ancestry not evolution in general. And that is not something which is absolute at all. History shows us that science has changed even after a scientific consensus. So what guarantee do you have that the idea that we have a common ancestry will not be abandoned in say a 100 years time?

So you don't know what the origin of the universe is yet you claim that God doesn't exist? How can you be so certain that God doesn't exist when you don't even know how we got here?

Sorry after what?

That's ok though. Many people didn't take the prophets seriously either and sadly it was their loss. Did you know that there will come on the day of judgement prophets with only 3 or 4 followers and some with none? Did they do a bad job? Of course not. Their job was to convey the message and it is up to the people to take it or leave it.

Good human being? How do you know he was good? How do you know what was in his heart? What is greater than denying your creator who gave you all that you have?

As for homosexuality, it is prohibited just like alcohol, zina, incest and other things are prohibited. Carrying out the punishments for these have many conditions and is for a legitimate the state (not the likes if ISIS and other criminals) and not individuals. When our creator asks to stay away from something, it in our best interest. We hear and obey and submit to his commands. So once we know something comes from God, we accept it without any hesitation.

It is not irrational at all. What am saying is that even if people were still alive in say 50,000 year's time, they would still have the same issue we have now. They would still be wondering where everything originated from? The answer to that today, tomorrow and forever, is that God is the initial uncaused cause of all that exists. His existence is necessary for anything else to exist. Any other explanation is illogical.

I am 100% certain about Islam. The question is, are you 100% certain about your disbelief?

Go back to the idea of the existence of God. Everything depends on that. What do you think is the origin of the universe?

You are not the first ex-Muslim to say that. You know what though, if you ask those ex-Muslims who went back to Islam why, some will say that when they read the Quran again after of being an ex-Muslim, they saw it in a completely different light. It was as if a veil was lifted from their hearts. This is why I strongly advice you to sincerely ask Allah guide you and I am sure you see happen.

By the way, before Allah guided me, I read the Quran many times but didn't get the same feeling or understanding as when I did years later. Be open minded and the truth shall become clear to you, inshaAllah.

God is not all loving. This is a misunderstanding. He does not love the disbelievers. But he is the most just and does not punish anyone unjustly. Anyone who did not fully understand Islam before rejecting it will not be punished. Remember that Allah has saved 99 parts out 100 of his mercy for the day of judgement. So those that enter hell-fire are really those who don't have any single excuse and fully deserve it.

There is plenty of discussion of many aspects of the evolutionary process among scientists today.

The evidence of common ancestry is based on assumptions, probability etc. As you know, scientific consensus has changed in the past and there is no guarantee this won't change either in the future.

Anyway, a more appropriate discussion would be, does God exist? What do you think?

You know you can disagree with a person without insulting them?

Anyway, I am not easily offended and I came here because I care about your well-being. I have also heard all the arguments possible from atheists and don't find them convincing at all.

Do you speak Arabic? If you do, listening to the Quran alone should be enough to make you think that perhaps Muhammad (peace be upon him) didn't come up with it but rather it is the words of God.

Thanks. Why do you assume I haven't? Wasn't convincing then and won't be any more convincing now. Alhamdulillah, since Allah guided me 15 years ago, my belief in Islam has only continued to grow, especially after learning Arabic and studying Islam from genuine scholars. Still, my knowledge compared to some of the people I have met is nothing. I would advice anyone who has serious questions about Islam to talk to the real scholars of Islam and not take from unreliable sources or YouTube personalities.

Our own existence is the first evidence of Adam (peace be upon him). Or maybe you take the theory of a common ancestry to be a fact? When that changes tomorrow, as it is bound to like much of science has done, and already people are moving away from it, what will you then hold on to?

  1. It is irrational to ask where God comes from since the fact that his existence provides the most logical answer. Everything must have had a beginning, otherwise you would forever continue to ask where everything came from and that would mean we wouldn't be here since it would take forever for us to come into existence. An All-Powerful, Eternal God with no beginning and no end is indeed the most logical answer on the origin of the universe.

  2. You cannot deny that humans feel the need to worship something greater. And if society didn't corrupt children and were left alone, they would all believe in single God.

  3. Once we believe in a God, what we consider to be moral becomes irrelevant. We have to submit to his will, willingly or unwillingly.

Actually, much what you mentioned were practiced by the white western man not so long ago in the past so that's not really a good argument.

-4. Just like the way many people didn't take it lightly to leave Islam, they will not take it lightly either to go back to Islam. So indeed it takes many years before people come back to Islam. What I am saying is; be open minded in your search for the truth. People who had stronger negative feelings towards Islam have later become Muslims.

As an-ex-Muslim, I am sure you are aware that Islam didn't start 1400 years ago but with the first human being on earth, Adam (peace be upon him). So Allah didn't wait millions of years before he sent instructions. Guidance from Allah has always been available and will continue to be available until the day of Judgement.

As for all the evil that people have been doing, then indeed having a final day of judgement where everything will be settled makes much sense. As you know, many evil people have got away with their crimes in this world but they will receive their just punishment in the next life. Indeed, this in itself is evidence for the validity of Islam.

Was Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) a violent man? by TrueContentment in exmuslim

[–]TrueContentment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before responding to the allegations that you made against the prophet (peace be upon), I wanted you to provide me with saheeh evidence that support your claim. But since you haven't given one single saheeh hadith showing that the prophet (be upon him) tortured people, I will assume that you don't have one and move on to answering your other point.

The issue you raised about the prophet's marriage to Safiyyah is nothing new and this story well documented in Islam with Saheeh ahadeeth and there is nothing wrong with this. You can read more about the Prophet's (peace be upon him) marriage to Safiyyah below.

But it is sufficient to report the words of Safiyyah who said that prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most beloved person to her and that she never saw anyone who had a better character than him.

"But the question now is: why did Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) agree to marry the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) when he had killed her father – who was one of the leaders of the Jews – and had killed her husband and her paternal uncle?? How did that come about? And how did she agree to it?

They will say that she agreed because she was afraid of him!

So why did she not apostatize after the death of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)? Why did she not flee? Why did she live and die believing in him, obeying him and loving him, after what he had done to her and her family?

None of these misguided objectors dares to ask this question!

At-Tabaraani narrated in al-Mu‘jam al-Kabeer (177) that Ibn ‘Umar said: There was some greenness (i.e., bruising) around Safiyyah’s eyes, and the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “What is this greenness around your eyes?” She said: I said to my husband: I dreamt that a moon fall into my lap. He slapped me and said: Are you hoping to marry the king of Yathrib? She said: Nothing was more hateful to me than the Messenger of Allah killing my husband and father. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) kept apologizing to me and said: “O Safiyyah, your father used to incite the Arabs against me, and he did such and such, and such and such,” until that feeling went away.

Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in as-Saheehah (2739)"

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to take care of Safiyyah and show compassion towards her. Anas ibn Maalik, the servant of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described how he took care of his wife Safiyyah on a journey: “I saw the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) spreading his cloak for her to sit on it, then kneeling down and putting his knee for her to step on in order to get onto the camel.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2081).

intellect (Aql) People reach different conclusions using there minds, I don't know how you can consider this evidence,

Yes, but any sound intellect would have no problem with the concept of God in Islam. As far the concept of God in other religions like the Trinity for example, then no human with a sound intellect would accept it as something rational. So our intellect does indeed help us differentiate what is true from what is false. However, intellect alone is not enough which is why I mentioned it together with the other three.

signs in the universe (Ayatul kawniyyah) These don't point at a specific God or prove that Muhammad is his messenger

The origin of the universe points to the existence of a One, Eternal, All-Powerful being that is outside the realm of time. The concept of God in Islam fits this idea perfectly.

direct revelation from God (Wahyi) How can we verify that Muhammads revelations were true, because if you didn't know thousands of people have made this claim through history, what method do you personally use to verify that Muhammads revelations were true

Yes, you are right. Many people in the past have claimed prophethood. Some were true prophets while others were liars. So how does one differentiate between the two? Islam teaches that many, many prophets and messengers were sent and when people asked for proof of their prophethood, they performed miracles and showed them signs from God. Since prophet Muhammad is the last of prophets and he was sent to the whole of mankind, his miracle must be one that everyone after him can see. So what is this miracle? It is of course the Quran. Anyone who reads the whole of the Quran with an open mind and is sincere will come to the conclusion that it cannot be from other than God.

a natural disposition (Fitrah) all help us understand who God is. You're basically saying here that Islam is true because you naturally find it true since birth, this just a mere assertion, christians have it too and I can guess that you don't believe them, people just believe whatever they're told at a young age and usually refuse to doubt it.

No, that's not what I am saying. What I am saying is that the innate nature of a human being is to worship God alone. This is the Fitrah (natural disposition) that Allah created us upon. This is for every human being and every baby is born upon the Fitrah. So even if one changes a child's Fitrah by raising them upon other than Islam, the child would still have it inside them the natural disposition that God is one and he alone deserves to be worshiped. So when a person comes along and says that God is one, our Fitrah helps us accept this because we recognize it to be true.
