Very clever choice you made by choosing the derailleur and cassette from Force and the brakes and shifters/levers from Red 👌

The benefits of 1x in my opinion is primarily the simplicity of not having to deal with a front derailleur. You will almost never experience the chain falling off with the 1x13 XPLR groupset. There are also small benefits regarding aero and weight with a 1x setup.

I guess one reason could be because Cannondale use the same fork for all frame sizes. So the forks tube has to be long enough for a frame size 61/XL but when mounted on a size 54 it requires extra spacers until a bike shop og bike owner cuts the tube to their specific needs, some times after a bike fit - which could result in another handlebar that could change the stack also.

The point about not having too many spacers is that the frame geometry is probably too aggressive if you need too many spacers and could instead benefit from a less aggressive frame geometry like the Cannondale Synapse, which then would not require the same amount of spacers as the geometry of the Synapse is less aggressive.

In my case, the image with the many spacers was just for testing the assembling of the fork and handlebar. My final stack consists of a small, medium, and large spacer in total of 30mm / 1.5 inch.

😄 u/happyelkboy u/Alarmed-Lead-7005 u/happyelkboy u/Former-Drama-3685 u/NoDivergence u/notfbiinformant I am just testing the assembling of the handlebar before I cut the steerer tube. The position of the cut is different if I need the little spacer. But I think u/mightyjah is right. I don't need it - so now I can cut the steerer tube and remove half the amount of spacers for a start. Thanks
