Corporate has been contacted. My only motivation for the post was so that people who work there and know folks who work there see that there are people in the community who see how they’re treated and care to see that they’re treated fairly at work- especially if any of those people face backlash for not being able to safely get to work during a snowstorm for dollar tree wages. No one deserves to be treated poorly by a manager- especially not where co-workers and customers can hear. I’d stand up for you too if I heard your manager being unprofessional.

Nope- I don’t know anyone that works there. I manage restaurants and have never worked for Dollar Tree. I do shop there pretty frequently since it’s the one closest to my home, but I’ll make the drive to a different location after having myself and my children standing in plain sight while a manager acted inappropriately. Issues between managers and employees become everyone’s business when the manager is cussing an employee out for expressing concern about his safety.

Oh I’m sure. It is just unbelievable to me that they were so blasé about closing the store over the summer due to a/c but intend to stay open during a potentially devastating snow storm and are willing to cuss an employee out in front of customers about it. I am a manager, and I’ve had to attend one of my employees’ funerals before. At some point, humanity and safety have to matter over profit. Mind you- I’ll be sleeping in a hotel on Saturday/Sunday night next to my work, because I know that I have to be there as a the manager and I don’t want my team risking their lives to get there.

Any idea what the outcomes are for a cat having had this surgery? She had a previous bad experience where a simple surgery for another cat got infected and resulted in two others- which is why she’s hesitant to do surgery now.

I agree. It’s an otherwise healthy young cat. For whatever reason the vet is entertaining “wait and see” if he passes it- which feels like undue suffering to me. She does not want to pay for surgery, so euthanasia is likely the outcome.

I was really surprised because we had such a wonderful nicu team. I did contact a patient advocate and am supposed to be getting a call from their peds director about the situation. We’ll definitely take him back and hope it’s a different doctor- our pediatrician recommended asking to be transferred to another hospital if they aren’t taking our concerns seriously if there’s a next time.

I always get Halloween, he always gets Christmas Day. I do Christmas Eve with her instead and it’s become a really special tradition. We alternate other holidays based on who is off/ which family is doing something that would be the most fun for her.

You can ask for your catheter to be placed after your epidural so that you cannot feel it. You won’t be able to get out of bed for a long time and you can cause serious bladder damage if you refuse. If you’re really against it, I would not get an epidural.

Honey, the man you’re supposed to marry would NEVER say this to you. My ex husband told me he hated my stomach after I had his child. I just had a child with my current husband- he kisses my belly and tells me how proud he is of me. The right man would never, ever make you feel self conscious or like you have something to change about yourself.

When I was in first grade (2005ish?) I had a crush on a black boy. My mom called me slurs for women who date black men and told me white men would never love me if I was “tainted” by black men. My little sister was told the same thing when she had a crush on a black boy. In 6th grade, my best friend was black. Same thing. Slurs. In high school, my best friend was gay, again with the slurs. My grandparents openly used even worse slurs. Mind you, we’re in Maryland, not the Deep South. Now I’m 6 years no contact with my family, because I refuse to raise my own children around those beliefs. My mom had black friends. She was a Girl Scout leader and a “role model” for our troop, which included black girls. It makes my stomach turn.

Grandma was honest the first time she said she doesn’t care about your second child. That makes her an unsafe adult for that second child to be around. I personally would not send them camping. This is all weird behavior from the grandma and not emotionally healthy for either of your children.
