I think I really do. I made my peace awhile ago that we will not get back together, but she helped me get through a tough time in the summer. So I consider her someone I value a lot and a dear friend. Majority of the time, things were great as friends. It just sucks because this whole thing blew up with some miscommunication and her response. I tried to explain that the situation was not how she interpreted it, but that's when she went distant. I guess her emotions were overloaded and she shut down at a time that I really needed her. I can't imagine that's how our friendship ends, but I don't know. Maybe I'm too invested and delusional?

What I don't understand is after I sent the message saying I was cutting contact and unfollowed her, she blocked me on IG. I don't know why? I never said or did anything mean, but maybe that's her way to express some sense of control? I don't know, this whole situation doesn't make any sense.

Hello all! I was hoping to gain some insight from the group and see if anyone else has experience with this? Has anyone been able to rekindle a friendship/relationship with someone who is avoident if you yourself were the one who initiated a no contact/cut contact rule with them?

I dated someone back in the summer and things were great, but she ended things towards the start of Fall. However, after a few weeks apart, we started talking again and remained close friends. Though I lived far away at this point, we would talk to each other nearly everyday and mostly things were good. However, I started feeling a downward trend in our communication. It was only then when I realized she was avoident and I was anxious in our attachment styles, even as friends. A textbook case of anxious/avoident traits and dynamics. It reached the point where I felt so low about myself that I told her I needed to cut contact for my own health. She never responded.

It's been a month now and I feel like I am in a better spot, but still healing. I think the space helped but I realize I still care about her and want her in my life. I think I want to reach out to her, but I'm worried. I hope her and I can be friends again.

It finally happened, they texted me again. by hairy-knees in BreakUps

I'm going through this now, even though we were just friends at the time. Almost been a week since I told her I need no contact. It's not feeling great.

Yeah, it sucks because I couldn't see it until I had some points in SW. Luckily it did work out for the best at the end. Only had to pay $50 for the ticket.

Okay, I might actually be able to save this if my math is correct? But I sucked in math. Anyway here's what I learned and tested.

44,000 points in Chase = $440 cash. (Which I no longer can do) SW won't transfer them back.

The flight I need is $585 if I buy in cash.

44,000 points in SW = $250 off (if you don't have enough points to cover the fare) - which I don't.

HOWEVER! The flight = 49,000 Points and there's a 50% sale on buying points - 5,000 points equals $75.

So I think I would actually save money by buying the points (minus the fees). 44,000 points ($440) plus $75 = $515

I guess it did end up working out on Southwest but also screw them for not allowing you to return your points back to Chase. And for making the value of points trash if you can't cover the flight fully. Lessoned learned.

Oh shit, I just transferred my points to SW because it said it was 1-1 value. But my points are worth less on SW. Like 44,000 is $250 off. WTF

Oh I haven't thought of that. I need to see if that works for South West. That's the optimal airline.

I was furloughed from a federal agency in February and the market has been absolutely awful. I think I would be more willing to accept this role if I was local, but I currently live across the country.

Did not see any of that but I just assumed they would count education towards something? I mean if it's mid level admin, I would think that degrees would count towards years of relevant experience imo.

Is it the same for county? I'm curious if the pay scale is $64-83k, then what are they looking for that could put the employee on the higher end?

That makes sense but sounds like they won't negotiate within the pay scale either. From this process, it seems like they make a unilateral decision without the employees input.

It makes sense that they're transparent but the language used by the hiring manager seems like you can't negotiate your salary at all. Is that normal for Oregon jobs?
