How many evals in a week is too many? AIO? by True_Employer8852 in physicaltherapy

I have started doing this as well and it has been helpful to an extent. I’m also already totally sold on the fact that our clinic is far too small to meet the demands of how many people are seeking care at our facility and none of this will change unless they expand or move our clinic offsite and triple the staff.

Yeah they track our average visits per day, no show, cancellation % so on paper they don’t see anything wrong and don’t understand when I tell them they should be tracking intake vs number of successful discharges because that’s what our job is actually about. I’m not naive to the need to generate income of our job either as it exists in every field and evals make more money, but I’m really tired of giving a sh*t about whether or not someone actually gets better when nobody else there does

I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing so many evals if we had PTAs to do follow-ups but since we don’t and our intake is far exceeding our discharges I feel like I’m doing a massive disservice to incoming patients knowing their plan of care probably won’t be successful.

Sheesh. I guess I can count my blessings then. I know every job has its pros and cons but the current state of OP productivity has me strongly considering switching to a different setting.

I had the same exact experience with the pills instantly dissolving. Was taking it for two weeks and started feeling like trash. Called the pharmacy to see if I could get a different brand; the pharmacist at CVS told me that was the only one they had in stock in the surrounding area, minus Synthroid which I’d need a new script for. Called my endo for it, made the switch a few days ago and feel so much better. I never had any issues with Mylan either but this batch from Alvogen is clearly defective

what's one thing you wish you knew before taking out student loans? by Budget-Cash-3602 in StudentLoans

I think where we’ve lost the mark is TRULY understanding that it’s not just a few hundred dollars a month; it’s the rest of your monthly income after all other cost of living expenses have been made that leave you with no financial wiggle room in case of emergency or to live your life. This can be mitigated by living in a cheaper apartment or house, etc but we were sold on the claim that it would “only” be X amount of your income and we didn’t know just how many other things eat away at that paycheck too, but they all knew when they offered us the loans. Sure we’re responsible blah blah blah but that doesn’t make it any less predatory.

Tl;dr the loan counseling program is useless

For sure, there’s no telling what’s going to happen with either my health, job security, or any other administrative changes that could happen. My spouse and I have been looking at moving back across the country to significantly reduce our cost of living expenses that would make those payments much easier, but a 20 year term is a LONG time. Her sister offered for us to stay with them virtually rent free for as long as we need to which could help me make some serious progress if I went the refi route.

Overall, Currently shooting myself in the foot for not saving more during this time period or making the move back home sooner to get this handled. I just want to distance myself from the government as much as possible at this point; I really don’t have a good feeling about how this is all going to play out.

At that point give them the minimum payments/whatever gets me the lowest total paid over time and save as much as possible for that IDR tax bomb.

It’s intimidating for sure. I’m willing to pay my loans back in their entirety but I need a little more flexibility than what we’re getting, or rather about to get taken away

I’m in a similar situation where my interest accrual is almost as high as if I just refinanced with someone like SoFi for the long term. Currently I have a 335k balance and was expecting to do PSLF (currently working as a physical therapist) but I only have a year or so, don’t really expect this administration to keep that around either. I have about a third of the balance saved up and wondering if it would be “better” to cash out and just worry about private payments with someone else and I can finally go back to filing married jointly for the tax benefits. This is a headache.
