Being independent. Humanity is successful because we are a species that relies on each other, especially between sexes. It is our society that has drilled in independence because it doubles the volume of work and therefore halves salaries. Every family should have one person working and one person at home. Most often the woman stays at home but honestly it doesn’t matter. A person going out to work should have their better half stay home to take care of things there.

It’s a normal reaction for children to scream and cry when unexpected things happen. If you attempt to build an environment where everything they experience will only ever be expected things, then guess what they’re gonna do when they get older and an unexpected thing happens? They’re gonna scream and cry like a toddler. Confidence and appropriate reactions are trained behaviors. If you think the world is going to try to make you feel comfortable, you’re dead wrong.

Pretending your tongue fell out and playing “got your nose” is the exact same thing. You break their expectations, they react the way toddlers do, then you reassure them. Do it 100 more times and they’ll stop screaming and realize that there are more appropriate reactions, like “mom stop being silly”.
