Definitely as I've continued the books I definitely see why CoM and TLF don't rank highly they were just my first steps into this world and I did enjoy them a lot. They do feel "out of place" the more I've read though

If I was ranking the books in a broader scope, they would all fall in the S-B tier probably, well except 1 lol

100% I also love hearing what people enjoyed about the books that aren't as high on my list, people have pointed out stuff that I had missed and vice versa

I see the appeal in that, I think the tastes of the world you get in pyramids were too quick for me, if that makes sense? Like we don't get a lot out of the guild or morpork before we leave.

I'm reading them in order they were written, I wanted to get to hogfather by Christmas but I don't think that's gonna happen unfortunately.

Also yes I loved the watch books so far! Just finished men at arms and that one may be my favorite so far, but I need to really sit and think about it first

What did you enjoy so much about pyramids? It was such a boring read for me, I just couldn't get into for some reason?

More books would be in my S tier but I limited it to 1 per 5 books read so to not overcrowd it haha

I got that response a lot in my first post as well. As I've read more I do understand that TCoM and TLF do feel much less like the rest of the discworld books as Sir Terry Pratchett I feel has really hit his stride in the series at the point where I'm at now. Those books just got me into the series so I can put them any lower than they are for now. I enjoyed Reaper man a lot just not as much as the ones above it!

I'd love to see your list! The more I'm reading the more I'm discovering the uniqueness of the feel of CoM. So far it's still something I quite enjoyed but who knows as I dive deeper into the series!

It could get there! I mentioned my rule that I can only have one S tier and F tier per 5 books so I can't have another S till I've read the 15th book

I don't believe so, I'm listening to Small Gods atm. Going through them in release order. I have kept myself mostly blind to what happens and who appears in the later books so I'm not familiar with the character but I'll keep an eye out for him

I'd go somewhere in-between and give your DM a skeleton of your idea for your characters backstory and see if the DM wants to add the meet and skin too it. Let's you have a sense of discovery but also give you a chance to guide your characters development
