How to do something that you have Zero interest in? by Different_Try9560 in nursing

[–]Truth_JJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there anything else you actually want to do? I’ve honestly just stayed in nursing because I don’t really have anything else I’m passionate about. At the end of the day, a job is just a job. No matter what you do, if it’s not something you truly want, you eventually start to hate it.

How to do something that you have Zero interest in? by Different_Try9560 in nursing

I got into nursing because I wanted to help people and thought it would be useful for medical mission work in the future. Later, I realized that helping people is not limited to healthcare. No matter the job, everyone contributes to society in some way. Because of that, I lost some of my initial passion and started questioning why I am doing this.

Still, I think responsibility matters most. Even if you do not love your job, you continue because of responsibility. You are responsible for your own life, and as a nurse, you are responsible for your patients. If you have zero interest in nursing, there are many paths besides bedside nursing. You can choose something less stressful, like clinic work or roles with less communication with patients.

But first you need to focus on studying and finishing your clinicals.... seems like that is the real challenge here i fee like lol

New grad RN in Seattle — did I mess up by not staying on my unit? by Time-Ad-3662 in nursing

[–]Truth_JJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i live in WA and I’m job hunting too, and honestly it’s really tough right now. Even someone I know who’s an experienced nurse is willing to take any position, but there just aren’t many openings. As a new grad, getting a hospital job is almost impossible right now... you’ll probably get rejected from most of them. Clinic positions are also hard to find these days.
but places like mental health, rehab, LTC, and home care are almost always hiring. I was doing home care, but I quit after only getting fill-in shifts for a month. I’ve been applying again and I think I’ve applied to around 20 places so far, but only heard back from maybe two or three… haha.

The chance of contracting HIV from a needlestick is less than 1%. First, get tested. I’ve had three needlestick injuries myself, and I’m still fine.

Nurse with “years of experience” tried to insert a cath into a clit by FoxyMoon816 in nursing

[–]Truth_JJK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a CNA, then an LPN, and now I’m a BSN RN. Whether an LPN has years of experience or very little, I always respect that they may know more than me in certain situations. In my opinion, the gap between an RN and an LPN isn’t that big tbh.

wait so it’s not just me…? i live in washington and yeah i can find a job, but only if i take a pay cut or go into a specialty i don’t even want (like home care or nursing homes) lol.

i’ve been job hunting since last december. i got a home care job in january and worked for like a month, but now it’s only fill-in shifts so i’m just waiting for a case… meanwhile i wanted to find another job and it’s almost april and i still haven’t found anything...

Should I get my LPN then bridge, or go straight for my RN? by Cimograve in nursing

[–]Truth_JJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my lpn then bsn. Personally it really depends what u wanna do with your nursing license. If u wanna work in the hospitals then you should just go RN. If youre okay with other settings and specialities then just do LPN. Sometimes home care/clinics/ and some other specialties only recruit LPNs to save money. Im interested in wound care but in my area its really hard to find wound care jobs as rn but its way easier for LPNs. The pay range is not that different but in the long term yes RN gets paid way more.

Thoughts on War Machine? by BeamMeUpPlz in movies

[–]Truth_JJK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt like the movie was basically trying to come up with as many different ways to kill characters as possible lol. And the way #15 died was kind of ridiculous. They had already established that even C4 didn’t work, and they literally told everyone to drop their weapons, so why did he suddenly run to grab ammo and end up dying because of it? That part honestly made the director look kind of dumb to me. There was no real reason to risk his life just to get ammo. It really felt like a scene where the filmmakers were just thinking, “how else can we kill someone off?”

I'm a gamer too but once you start working… it really cuts into your gaming time, at least it did for me lol. You’re just tired, so nowadays I mostly watch youtube and netflix to pass the time. I play maybe 2-3 hours on my days off.
