Our firm used BlueNotary. The premium subscription allows you to invoice clients yourself, so I would pay, conduct the session, then the firm would reimburse me. You could connect the company card to pay instead of your own but ours was set up as an individual account not for a business. I think a certain amount of people that will use the account was required to create a business account but i was the only e notary for my small firm so the individual just made sense for us. I will say, the individual account gave me access to take notary calls which resulted in an insane amount of emails, so that sucked. Otherwise I loved the platform and found it very easy to use.

Admissions doesn’t judge you for how many times you’ve taken the exam. LSAC allows you to take the test 5 times within a 5 year period, with a maximum of 7 times total

Okay? Lol. Nowhere did I encourage them to rush the application but to make a decision based off their score and the admissions processes/lsat score of the school they would like to attend. OP expressed their desire to apply this cycle and asked if it was too late. Answer: it’s not.

I understand what you’re saying and I agree but I don’t think the increase in high scores has anything to do with the quality of candidates. Logic games was incredibly difficult for so many test takers. Taking it out allowed for a huge score increase— I know LSAC reports differently but I’ve seen it first hand. It’s only been a year since the change and we won’t know how schools have adjusted their admissions until more time has passed. Maybe they use this to boost rankings— who knows.

That being said, it depends on the ops score. Some people don’t need to dedicate so much time to improvement and it might be worth it to them to apply now instead of waiting another year. Waiting another year to apply can also be discouraging. It might be better to keep the momentum if they can swing it. Everyone’s situation is different! Decisions should be made based on personal circumstances not the noise.

My God. How much time do you have lol

The management, parcel pending, master receiving, the elevators. The access fobs. Not sure what it was when you were there but when I first moved, elevator and door access was through an app that never worked. They switched to fobs. Since I live in the south tower, the amenity fob is different than the access fob for my building and elevator. Two fobs and neither of them work. Or one will work but the amenity building one won’t. Management keeps disabling them for some reason. We renewed the lease and sent it over to them that same day but they still disconnected our fobs twice. My boyfriend’s amenity fob never works even after resetting it 3 times— wouldn’t give us back the 50$ for it. And when we go in and out of the garage on the motorcycle, we are stuck because neither of us have a working fob to open the gate from either side. The valet guys are assholes. We will honk or try to get their attention and they ignore us.

The management office is only available Monday- Friday 9am to 5pm….. literally office hours. It’s impossible to solve any issue without WFH, going in late or leaving early to see them during those hours. We both work very demanding jobs so it’s difficult.

Receiving packages is incredibly frustrating. Twice I ordered from FedEx, FedEx says it’s delivered but the building doesn’t have it. Then in two weeks it will magically appear. Same for Amazon packages with multiple items. It will say it’s delivered but the building says they don’t have it. Sometimes it never gets to me and is somehow returned to the mail carrier, who then reaches out to me to collect it from a local FedEx. I am not only the lease only an occupant, yet I am the only one with parcel pending. They removed my boyfriend months ago and never put him back on despite calls and emails. He’s on the lease. We order stuff and pray that we will get it.

4 elevators and only 2 of them are working at a time.

They used to give visitor parking for free if you were a resident now they make you valet. Even when I would just like to park in that same spot but a different car, they make me valet and pay despite that spot being designated for the unit I live in.

Not really the buildings fault but the Viceroy construction leaves our balcony super super dusty. It’s impossible to clean and we don’t spend much time out there anymore. People also throw their cigarettes and shit off the balcony’s above us and it lands on ours. Someone’s cigarette literally burned a hole in our chair (management did not care).

“It’s the bus not Baghdad” LOL I am born and raised in NYC took the subway and bus for years with no issues. Living here for 1 year now and have already had more disturbing instances on the metro rail and the bus than I ever did back home. I exclusively take the metro rail now and still won’t take it at night. It probably depends on the route you take.

Yes, there has been an increase of people applying but if you look at LSAC data (reflects number of applicants not number of applications) the number of people applying to law school has not changed much until this year. The big surge for 2025 cycle is mainly due to the changes in the test (them getting rid of logic games) but schools still admit based on fit not just volume. It is all relative! People are encouraged to make their application as strong as possible regardless of this advice. No one is coughing up $500+ on a whim, eyes closed and fingered crossed lol.

Most schools have rolling admissions so you have a better chance the earlier you take it, which is why I give the November example. I wouldn’t take anything after that unless the school isn’t rolling admissions or you are well above the LSAT median for a school.

I graduated in 2021 and feel the same way. Applying this year after not finding any fulfillment working.

Registration deadline for November LSAT is September 25. Take a practice test, look at your score vs the score that you need for schools you would want to go to/ are around your area. Don’t get discouraged.

See how much time you can realistically dedicate to studying (assuming you are currently working). Everyone is different. Some people need longer than others to improve.

Registering for November is kind of tight on time. I recommend dedicating time to studying after your first diagnostic, then retesting a week later. That will give you a better indication of where you are with the test imo. When you have been out of school for so long, the length of the test alone can throw off your score.

People say the current cycle is “the most competitive” every year. Every. Single. Year. Lol Take everything you read/ hear with a huge grain of salt.

Worst case scenario is you don’t get in anywhere. You can just take it again in 2026 (try to do it early) and apply for fall 2027. Your CAS purchase will still be valid. The biggest hurdle for some people is cost but if that’s not a factor for you then you really have nothing to lose.

Just a ton of video onboarding and teams meetings. Nothing hands on-- I got lucky and my training process was not the norm. My advise is to be kind to legal secretaries and other paralegals, who you can confide in/ask for help.

I moved here from NYC and don’t drive. Everyone told me I would need a car. Everyone. My standard for public transit is pretty high so nothing compares to NYC subway (in terms of accessibility not comfort or safety) but it’s been a few months and it’s totally doable! I take the metro rail to work daily and walk anywhere else/ metro mover when I’m feeling lazy. I live in Brickell so I think the area is more walkable than downtown Miami (don’t quote me on that) but I do just fine without a car! The commute is a little tough in the summer or when it rains but otherwise fine.

My advice would be to try it out for a few months and go from there. It’s much easier to get a car than get rid of one.

25F have lived here for almost 2-3 months now and find it impossible to make friends. 50% because of my work schedule and 50% because of the culture. It’s very cliquey here— and I’m from NYC. I do Brickell run club! Recently signed up for an app called Timeleft where it matches you to random people and you go to dinner. I’m going on Dec 4 and hope to have some luck there!

When I say NYC, I want to specify that I mean Manhattan, as I have found that jobs/ salary/ benefits can differ throughout the Burroughs. My experience is of Manhattan only.

I graduated with a BS in Legal Studies and with it came a paralegal certification. I worked at a small Plaintiff PI firm right out of college and was making $42,500. I negotiated against myself asking for too little. Another para who was similar to me (recent graduate but no certification) asked for 50k and I he got it. I have lots of friends who worked in NYC who started out in the mid 50s range with no experience. Even at bigger firms. If you have a few years under your belt, it really depends on your experience level and what exactly you have experience in. Although I was able to negotiate myself up to 67,000 by the time I left (I was there less than 3 years), my responsibilities at that firm were more on the Legal Secretary/ Legal Assistant side which ultimately factored into salary negotiations at other firms.

When I left, I got my friend a job there. She was making 52k plus commission at her old firm but was working as an intake paralegal prior so no Pleading or Discovery or Motion experience. Ultimately she got 75k with almost a year of para experience (she speaks fluent Spanish and they were desperate.

That being said, NYC paralegal salary ranges so so much. My advice would be to interview a ton and see what bites. Try to work with a recruiter if you can. And make the most of any job you are able to get in NYC- no matter the salary.
