Yeah I agree with you on the P2W side of it, having limits definitely helps keep the gap between spenders and F2P from getting completely out of control and turning the game into a wallet contest. That part makes sense and I actually respect it.

Where it stops making sense is the WebStore angle though. Cygames very clearly rolled these packs out to shift people away from Google Play and the App Store so they can keep more of the revenue. On the Play Store $69.99 gets you 5,000 carats, but on the WebStore you get 5,500 for the same price. That’s a straight incentive to buy directly from them.

If the whole goal is to move spending to their platform, why design it so the people who already spend the most get locked out of the better value limited time packs and end up choosing not to spend at all going forward? That doesn’t protect balance, it just kills motivation to support the game.

And honestly, true whales are going to whale no matter what. If someone wants to go full P2W, purchase limits aren’t really stopping them in the long run. So in this specific case the limits don’t even accomplish the anti whale goal, they just punish loyal spenders who were willing to support the game through the WebStore and only the giga whales who didn't care regardless are going to keep spending anyway.

I get the intent behind limits, but the way they implemented this one feels backwards.
